"Close to Big D but mixed bag"

6.0

I have been going to Disneyland for over 30 years and have stayed in many of the hotels on Harbor Blvd. and have stayed at all 3 DLR hotels or villas. This hotel is average and has some pluses and some areas that could use some improvement. On the positive side the hotel is about a 10 min walk to the entrance. We had a family suite and the room was quite good size. The beds are a little stiff but are clean and adequate. Bathroom was clean, however the bath towels need some improvement. The mini fridge and microwave worked fine. A/C worked fine and kept the room good for sleeping. No breakfast is not a big deal since most of the hotels that say they have breakfast is usually Tang and stale danish. You are better off going to some the close restaurants. Pool and hot tub were a nice compliment to the hotel. The biggest drawback to me was the carpet in the rooms. The carpet in the room we had need a thorough steam cleaning or replacement If the carpet was clean I would have given 4 to 4.5.

"Prime location - clean and comfortable beds- friendly staff"

10.0

Prime location- 5-7 minutes walking distance from Disneyland Resort and GardenWalk restaurant precinct as well as pharmacies. Four floors serviced by stairs and an elevator. Clean and comfortable beds - my room was a standard two queen bed room. Rooms a tad dark so you need a light on during the day. Air conditioning a little noisy and shower difficult to maintain temperature- could really use bathroom/plumbing remodel. No room safe but spacious wardrobe, coffee machine, nice sized mini fridge. Family run and friendly, obliging staff. Housekeeping efficient and thorough. Modern laundry facilities for guests ($1.50 per wash load plus detergent if you didn’t bring your own, $1.00 per dryer load. Uses quarters but reception are happy to make change for you). Great value for money. I opt for a room on the 4th floor as they are quieter (no one above you). This was my second stay and have booked again for next year as the pros outweigh any cons.

"Excellent family choice for Disneyland"

10.0

This property is kept up well with friendly front desk service, daily housekeeping, pool and hot tub. Close to many eateries and pharmacies. Easy walk to Disneyland in 10-15 minutes. The front desk even has plastic cutlery available for when DoorDash forgets it! Good shower water pressure. The price was reasonable and I would be happy to stay there again.

"A pleasant Stay, A delightful location."

8.0

As a kid growing up in Southern California in the 1990’s, this hotel was somewhat of a fantasy to stay in. The medieval theme, the colorful décor, and the spiral staircase in the lobby. However, in the mid-2020 it is beginning to show its age. I am giving it a 4 out of 5 rating only because taken all together the average price point per night is about 30% higher than the facility commands. I wanted to get the unpleasantness out of the way up front and clarified that the less than perfect rating is simply because the price point, particularly during high seasons, is higher than what is provided. Vibe / Atmosphere: The atmosphere reminds one of the medieval themed Pizza places popular in the 80’s and 90’s. Roundtable pizza in particular comes to mind. There is a knight of fantasy variety in the lobby, and the chandelier hangs above you as you enter. The staircase which is a central feature of the lobby is blocked because it goes up offices, not rooms. I will admit that detracts from the Castle Theme for me personally. Overall however, the lobby is a fun, if not dated, blast from the past. Service / Staff: The staff I interacted with was perfectly pleasant. We were checked in efficiently and had access to our rooms in less than 30 minutes of our arrival. I was very satisfied with check in. Cleanliness / Comfort: The room we stayed in is really ultimately the source of my 4 out of 5 rating instead of 5 out of 5. They were excellently clean, smelled pleasant, and were relatively quiet. However, I will say that the rooms themselves are showing signs of age, heavy curtains, wood panel accent walls, and a beige painted bathroom. Ultimately underwhelming, but nonetheless pleasant and comfortable. What You Did (activities / duration / standout moments): We stayed one night at this hotel. We did not use the pool, or any other facilities except the room itself. Pros & Cons Pros: The hands down indisputable advantage to this hotel is the proximity to the Disneyland property (Down town Disney, Disneyland resort, and California Adventure). And it sits near affordable restaurants, bus stops, and convenience stores. Cons: The price point. I say this knowing full well the location, and still believe the price is a bit high for the value. Most memorable feeling or moment: My most memorable moment was sitting in the lobby, taking in the decor, sitting on the furniture. I sat in the lobby for an hour soaking in the ambiance.

"Wonderful classic themed hotel, convenient"

10.0

Wonderful old school hotel with charm and themed creativity you don’t get at the chains. Slightly older but very nice and incredibly convenient .
