Holiday Inn Express Fredericksburg Southpoint by IHG

I only stayed for 1 night but overall the hotel was great. Check in was quick and easy, the staff was nice and the room was great/clean/spacious and the bed was comfortable. The only downside was that the pool was closed for renovations but I will definitely be staying here again.

Multiple lights (4) were out in the parking lot. This was away from the main entrance. A little unnerving walking into the hotel after dark alone. Back doors locked at 11 pm.

Several stays here. Great staff, well stocked breakfast, small workout room. Lets get these renovations done (slow progress). WOULD RECOMMEND

Cops were called Hotel was dirty Air conditioning barely worked Garage was piled up for 2 days and never taken out Furniture was piled up in the stairwell

We stay at Holiday Inn Express’s a lot and this was by far the worst one. More of a Motel 6 experience. Hallway is dirty and clearly there is some construction going on in a conference room. Our room on the first floor had no hot water in the shower at all. Sink had hot water, but the shower was room temperature. When I told the front desk in the am, they told me someone mentioned that yesterday. Gone all day, still not fixed. Also the bathroom vent was filthy and black. Moved to a room two doors down. A hassle but didn’t want another cold shower. Bathroom vent in this room filthy too. Clearly maintenance doesn’t clean the vents at all. This room has roller shades that are electric. Inner shade works, but no the black out shade, so no way to look outside or let any light in. Outside landscaping is “scruffy”. I will say all the employees have been very nice and helpful, but not enough to make me recommend this place. No way comparable to other HIE… just avoid. You’ll be very disappointed.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had. Cleanliness wasn’t bad but did not like the fact that my feet stuck to the bathroom floor and same with carpeting. (I've found carpeting is that way in most hotels so I always bring a pair of flip flops for walking around room) staff was very pleasant. Was disappointed that pool was not open.

Friendly staff. A/C works great. Couldn't hear the neighbors.

Staff was great, as was the complimentary breakfast. Disappointed the pool was down for remodel. I did not see a mention of this on the website. I would understand if it was unforeseen, but this is scheduled renovation. The room seemed a little damp. It was very hot and humid outside. In all, great stay at a great price.
