"“Serious Privacy Violation – Staff Opened My Door While I Was Undressed”"

I had a very disturbing experience at the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead that needs to be addressed. On the morning of checkout around 9:00 AM, while I was still a checked-in guest, a staff member opened my room door without proper notice or confirmation. I was asleep and completely undressed at the time. The employee quickly said “sorry” and shut the door, but the damage was already done. This is a serious violation of guest privacy and basic hotel protocol. The hotel attempted to justify this by referencing an unrelated situation that occurred earlier in the night involving children in the hallway. However, that situation had already ended, there was no police presence at the time, and there was absolutely no valid reason for my door to be opened. In addition, the room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, which I have documentation of. What is most disappointing is that after reporting this, the hotel refused to take accountability or offer any meaningful resolution. I have since had to escalate this issue beyond the property. Guests should feel safe and respected in their rooms, and this experience was the opposite. I hope management takes this seriously and makes immediate changes to prevent this from happening to someone else.

"Good suite, bad service"

I stayed with a roommate at the Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead from Jan 4, 2026 to Jan 7, 2026 as part of a Road Scholar program. Photos shown are of room 419. According to the hotel website, it was a suite. The suite consisted of a sleeping area, a living area and a bathroom. The sleeping area consisted of two double beds, a large sink with an attached dresser, and a closet. The living area consisted of a sofa bed, a small desk with a chair, a small sink, a mini-fridge, and had comparatively more space. The bed closest to the air-conditioner had a narrow walkway. I bumped my knees when crossing to open and close the curtains. The suite would be a 5-star if it weren't for a number of issues. For starters, each bed had four pillows of the same size. All four were equally lacking in fluffiness. For the three nights, I used two pillows - one on top of the other - for sufficient comfort. Did I mentioned that the beds were double-sized? That meant they were extremely cramp for two adult persons to share. Since there were only two of us, it was not an issue. I did not try the sofa bed, so could not verify if it was comfortable. Then there was the room service. Twice I placed the "Later Would Be Better" sign at the door, and twice they came in to clean up. That included making the beds and rearranging the pillows. The latter required me to find the right pillow comfort all over again. Fortunately, I locked my luggage and brought my backpack with me both times. The footnote of the "Later Would Be Better" sign stated the hotel policy of entering guests' room/suite at least once a day. In other words, guests did not have any privacy. What a disappointment! The worst was the room keys. When I checked in on Day 1, I was given two keys. My roommate checked in an hour later and got two keys. Mine then stopped working. I went to the front desk where the agent reset my keys. Guess what? My roommate's keys stopped working. I told him to use one of my keys instead of going to front desk to reset both of his (which would stopped mine from working). The agent on duty - on the evening of Jan 4, 2026 - insisted that the keys stopped working because they were near smartphones. We all knew that wasn't the case. Each of us were given two keys, totaling four keys per suite. Hotel policy was two keys to a room/suite. The long line of group members at the front desk represented exactly half of the suites' guests with non-working keys. In my opinion, the agent (he) not only lied but refused to believe that anything else could be the cause. I liked the presence of the bottle filling station on the first floor, and plenty of tables and seats at lobby for waiting. I also liked the close proximity to eating places. Louisiana Bistreaux was within a 10-minute walk. However, the customer service soured the overall experience. If I ever return to Atlanta, I would not stay here.
