The Malone Hotel

The breakfast was good and offered a good selection of continental and cooked menus. The bar and food was good and the staff were all friendly and efficient.

The room was poorly ventIlated. After the hot spell with temps back to normal, the building and room was stuffy. Only the top windows opened a couple of inches and did not allow enough air in since there is no air conditioning. On Saturday night some boisterous revellers on the bar terrace opposite my room created unacceptable noise until 4.00am. I am surprised the hotel allowed this to happen and did not ask them to continue inside the bar area, even if the bar was closed. The shower was poor and did not have much pressure and was prone to changing temps quickly. I reported my room safe did not work and the maintenance manager came quickly and confirmed it would have to be replaced and stated he had a spare one. But he never returned to replace it even as I stayed for a further three nights.

Comfortable rooms, relaxing place to go after a day out.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived despite specifying our arrival time in the booking, and we had to wait for half an hour to get an ironing board.

The location was good, a walk away from Queen's university and the Botanic Park. Supermarkets were close by and a variety of restaurants to choose from. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and incredibly helpful.

There could have been more kitchen utensils, for example, there was only one baking tray, no bottle opener either. More crockery could have been helpful. As it was hot, a fan in the room could have been useful.

It was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated

Our room didn’t have air conditioning or a fan so it was quite hard to sleep as the room was very hot
