Grand Hotel Beijing

The hotel was clean and staff was very accommodating. The décor was outdated and unappealing...a group of fake pandas "playing on the floor in the corner of the lobby, pretty cheesy. BUT ...the LOCATION was amazing !! Walk to Forbidden City and many other famous and incredible sights !

Most of the staffs can't talk in English. Breakfast is so expensive. I went to receipts toon to change my dollar but they didn't have cash :-). Very funny. Location is very good and clean hotel.

Room was very old. Customer service was also lacking. Staff seemed very unfriendly. The only thing 5 stars about this hotel was the price of their food.

The Grand Hotel is a charming hotel with a distinctive traditional Chinese atmosphere.

The hotel is absolutely exquisite. It is so beautiful and clean and you do have a few people that speak English, which is a rarity in China you are really close to the subway just outside the building, also shopping is just a block away and it has shopping for anything you could possibly want.

Steps to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. I had a problem while I was traveling, and the staff was very gracious and helpful. Good people.

Hotel is close to Tian'anmen square and Imperial Palace. Hallways smelled of smoke and room smelled a little musty. Bathroom had some water and mold damage visible. Beware of the buffet breakfast - my wife got food poisoning from it.

Other than being initially placed in a smoking room (which was immediately corrected), our experience was great. This hotel is a short walk from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, shopping, restaurants, and the subway line.

Very nice front desk people, good English speaking in hotel. Room service is accommodating for what we need as we were sick during the trip
