Hotel Fleur De Lys

The staff is excellent! Great location to the downtown museums and Theater. The train runs behind the building during the day, but I didn't hear any at night.

The hotel is beautiful. Lovingly restored w beautiful art. The staff was friendly, helpful and very responsive. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful; our room came w an upgrade which was unexpected and much appreciated. The only downside for us was the considerable train noise as the tracks run just behind the hotel; sleeping was difficult for only that reason.

Cannot beat the location for a night or two in San Jose, and super affordable. Less than a block from Jade museum and National Museum, easy walk to Gold museum and Central Market. Charming boutique hotel, accommodating kind staff, room was a great size, bathroom was nice, view was of the city on one window and out to the mountains past the city on the other. The only con anyone mentions in reviews is it is literally right next to a commuter train track, so go in with the expectation that you'll hear train horns at 6am. But they stop during the night between main sleeping hours, and if you know yourself you'll know if that will bother you or not. Nice breakfast, fresh fruit, gallo pinto, eggs, bread. Discounted gated 24/7 parking right around the corner. Just a very charming place to stay right in the heart of the city that feels calm and serene inside.

While the building is historic (0ld), the bathroom was updated and functioned well. The room had tile floors and was clean. The staff were very available and helpful to this English-speaking client. The beds are not very comfortable, somewhat on the hard side. But, for the price of the hotel, it was acceptable to me. The hotel is only about 1/2 block from Avenue 2, which makes it convenient for restaurants and shopping. Close to their national museum, and within walking distance of Central Market.

The property is over 100 years old but well maintained and conveniently located
