Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

I booked the Hyatt Newport Beach for my son’s birthday weekend and water polo tournament. Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by the room next door to ours and hotel management. Despite multiple calls from 8:30 p.m. onward, noise persisted late into the night with loud banging on the walls, running in halls all night long. Even though security was sent the disturbance continued throughout the night. My son and I needed rest for a 7:30am game, he didn't end up falling asleep until after 10:30 due to exhaustion. The noise continued throughout the middle of the night. I called four times, and it never stopped. I fell asleep at 1:30am. It was deeply disappointing for what should have been a special occasion. We won’t return and are very disappointed with Hyatt.

The rooms are OK. They seem to be recently udated. The property isn't all connected so if you have a room outside of the main building you are due for a walk with your luggage. Some rooms are motel style with no hallways and outside doors which don't seem safe or reasonable for the price point. It has a lot of families so the noise at night can be a little lout with kids. If you go ask for a room off the main lobby. Those are the best and the best location. The outside of the buildings and the hallways could use some love.

We stayed here as we were attending an event at the Newporter Pickelball club there on the property. It was very convenient for that, and if I were to attend another pickleball camp there I would consider staying here again, but otherwise... I've stayed at nicer hotels in the area for the money. The hotel grounds are nice - they have several pools, the workout room in the area of the hotel where we stayed (the Lido building) was nice, clean and well equipped (and highly utilized). But the rooms could be more updated. The beds were comfortable, and I appreciated that there was a mini fridge and a little coffee bar area in each room, but it was more things like... the actual door to the hotel rooms are older - with visible space around the seal (they open to the outdoors rather than an interior hallway, so you can easily see the light and hear the traffic and overhead planes). And the safety locks on the doors must be older as they don't have an auto-unlock feature from the inside, which seemed strange. That said, it was clean, safe, convenient, parking was easy. The coffee bar in the lobby was good in the mornings.

This property is 60 years old, and the Lido wing lacks an elevator. The property is still kept in wonderful condition and we enjoyed a great weekend there.

So friendly accommodating affordable unbelievable hiw many more adjectives can I come up with... all out great experience

Great pools and tennis and pickleball courts. The bar and restaurant was chill and had good options. The outside fire pits are great to relax with a beverage and friends. Location close to the bay, balboa island and great shopping at fashion island.

Noting that we didn’t like.

Old and rundown rooms—they advertise the Bay Room, but there is only a view to the courtyard. When the curtain is open everyone can see you from the public space.

the value between what they charge and what they provide is negative.

This Hotel has always made me feel welcome. Clean facility with great grounds. Excellent staff all around. Look forward to my next stay here.
