Opus One Luxury Guest House & Wine

Very friendly staff and a convenient location. Stayed for three nights and found the accommodations very comfortable. I would encourage the owners/operators to introduce themselves. They were nice, but having names would make it feel even more like a guest house.

Lovely team running it. Amazing location - 10 minute uber from the airport and a 5 minute walk into Faro centre - which is great. The place itself was clearly once very nice, but requires refurbishing and basic maintenance. That said, it looks like the current owners are doing that, and I felt it will return to a higher standard. I would return, and would recommend on its location and service, just making aware it is by no means perfect right now, but hope it will be again soon.

The late access was satisfactory, as a staff member was helpful. However, after that, the air conditioning malfunctioned due to depleted battery power, which could be replaced. Upon waking in the morning, we discovered that our balcony was littered with items of storage, and a plate glass was dangerously leaning across the front. Furthermore, we were unable to make coffee using coffee capsules, there was no soap in the hand basin dispenser, and the toilet seat was broken. Additionally, there was mould around the shower. The so-called spa pool was green, and the jacuzzi was covered. There was no staff present. We decided to leave the hotel, leaving our keys behind. As we exited, a dog greeted us at the door, barking and growling. When the dog ran towards us, we made an exit through a different door, the only staff members was cleaners. This establishment did not meet the standards of a luxury spa. Despite our attempts to give them a chance to rectify the situation, they chose not to contact us.

Great hosts. Bed needs replacement (could feel springs in mattress). Room needs a refresh. Good proximity to the centre of town - only a 3 minute walk to restaurants.

Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience at Luxury Guesthouse Opus One, Faro After thorough planning and much anticipation, we chose this guesthouse for a relaxing stay in Faro following a beautiful and active week hiking along the Algarve coast. Traveling as two couples, we were looking forward to ending our journey with something special – and Luxury Guesthouse Opus One appeared to offer just that, with its elegant presentation and central location. However, upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation – which had been confirmed and prepaid through Travellink – was canceled due to a supposed issue with the water and sewage system. We had received no prior notice, and were surprised to hear that the hotel was unable to contact us, despite the fact that all necessary contact information was clearly available through the booking platform. What disappointed us the most was the lack of effort to arrange an alternative accommodation. We were handed a list of other places we could try contacting ourselves, but no real assistance was offered. Being left to find a new place to stay on our own at the last minute felt completely unacceptable. We are also left with serious uncertainty about whether a refund will actually be processed as promised. We will gladly update this review if and when that issue is resolved. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this establishment and hope future travelers do not find themselves in a similar situation.

Very clean and comfortable Room to stop in. Big cosy room with a beautiful, very big on suite bathroom and a walk in wardrobe area. Very near to the Port and the town centre
