Staff was really helpful, spoke good English and made all the effort to accommodate us with our needs. Specials thanks to Mark! :) Also, nice location and it's easy to find.

The space. It's ok for 2 people but we not so much for 3. For groups larger than 2 probably a better choice would be to settle for 2+ rooms

"Spacious apartment with washing facilities"

7.0

- Luggage delivery service from the Sakura guest centre. - location was okay with access to bus and underground stations. - very spacious room for Japan, with washing/drying facilities in the room.

- noisy at night as the room was on a busy road. - the room was not cleaned daily.

The room was spacious and the beds were big, a weird smell everything we got into the room but we got used to it so it wasn't so bad...

The guy in the front desk was so rude! We were so nice and polite and ignored it infront of him but we were shocked!!! Kept rolling his eyes at us when we asked legitimate questions and didn't even answer us! Just told us to figure it out ourselves online. Even in the check in procedure he was super rude!!

"Bad."

1.0

The reception staff were nice.

The manager was completely unreasonable. Our balcony had very uneven ground. There is no warnings or stickers on the door that say ‘hey watch your step’ I stepped out, slipped over, rolled my ankle and broke what was a very very easy to break divider, that had clearly been knocked around before. For this I was charged $230 Australian. Originally I was going to be charged over $300 even though materials and labour were only going to cost $280, so I don’t know where the extra amount was coming from (dodgy). The point they made was that they couldn’t use the room adjacent because it looked ‘dirty’ however our room was covered in marks on the walls floor and couch. Everywhere. So I don’t understand this point. Not to mention the fact that hey had no signage on the door that would indicate to watch your step. I wouldn’t stay at another one of these facilities again. I would not recommend anyone does. The only positive were the front desk staff who were apologetic at the fact I even had to pay. Horrible.

"Let me start by saying that there was absolutely nothing good about our stay at Stay Sakura Gion North Kyoto. We booked"

1.0

Let me start by saying that there was absolutely nothing good about our stay at Stay Sakura Gion North Kyoto. We booked this property with very high expectations because our first stay in Tokyo had been wonderful, and the reviews for Stay Sakura were extremely positive. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. First, the location was very inconvenient. Reaching Kyoto Station required multiple train changes, which became especially difficult while traveling with luggage and a baby. The property itself was far from comfortable. The check-in area was tiny and poorly organized. The room design was extremely impractical — the space was so cramped that even two adults could barely move around properly. Multiple times during our stay, we bumped into parts of the room, including the TV and furniture, simply because there was so little walking space. The bathroom was also extremely small and uncomfortable to use. The washing machine experience was terrible. We tried washing clothes twice using the laundry pods provided by the hotel, but the pods did not dissolve properly and actually left our clothes in worse condition than before. The kitchen was technically functional, but very poorly equipped. There were no proper utensils or crockery provided — only a couple of tiny plates, two spoons, and two forks. No bowls, no proper dishes, and nothing suitable for comfortably having meals in the room. Storage was another major issue. There were no cupboards, no hanging space for clothes, and not even a proper area to keep suitcases. Overall, this was a genuinely unpleasant experience, and I would strongly not recommend Stay Sakura Gion North Kyoto to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Kyoto.
