The Islander Inn

Row of motel-type reasonable size rooms nicely located on the other side of the road to the lake, clean with charming decor, a few miles outside Bigfork but three bars/restaurants a very short walk away.

Email received after booking said '...your door code will be set to the last 4 digits of your phone number starting at check-in time.' We arrived early but the code worked so all good, except the room was not made up and as we were leaving several people arrived and an unfriendly gentleman asked, without introducing himself, what we were doing. It transpired that he was part of the property team. We happily left and returned later, at which point we found we could not lower the blind on the front window below a fixed half way point. We attempted to contact the remote management without success and had to hang towels off the blind for privacy. Also, the mattress was ridiculously soft and needed replacing.

The lights were beautiful and the room was big.

There was no breakfast. Location was convenient

There was a dirty washcloth in shower. There was a coffee pot but no coffee or coffee filters. Ther was pepper but no salt. Two paper coffee cup lids but only one cup. Free ice was advertised as well as firewood but none available. More attention to cleanliness and amenities are needed.

Clean, large room. Walking to 3 restaurants. Breakfast at a nearby restaurant located driving distance to downtown Big Fork, with gift cards was a very nice touch. Communication with owner was easy. We are stand up paddle boarders and this location is conveniently close to Woods Bay, a great drop in spot on Flathead Lake.

Set it included breakfast, but the restaurant hours were limited and we left before it opened at 10 AM. Said I would get a $45 refund to compensate for the loss of breakfast which I have never received. I don’t know if I didn’t receive it because I did it through booking, but that was a disappointment because I had to buy breakfast and it cost us $45 so the loss $90
