French Market Inn

This is an okay property to stay if first visit to New Orleans. Unfortunately it is bang in the tourist trail so can be a nightmare on the sidewalk for foot traffic when entering and exiting the hotel. The rooms are small but in the style in French Quarter which is good. There were two of us though and there wasnt much space to put our cases. I am not sure if the rooms could have been designed better in that aspect but maybe that is the best that they could do with the small rooms. The courtyard is very pretty with a very, very small swimming pool. You can two about 2.5 breaststroke before you land at the steps on the other end of the pool. All other hotels have free water in the lobby - we couldnt see any and was disappointed. It was only the second to last day that we saw that if you asked at the desk then they would give you free bottled water. The shower took a while to drain and also a while for the water to heat up. The rooms were clean. If visiting New Orleans again then I wouldn't stay in the French Quarter. It is way too touristy and busy.

This is absolutely the best place to stay in New Orleans. The hotel itself is gorgeous and full of history and the pool is a great place to relax after walking around the French Quarter. The staff are so friendly and helpful!

Great location. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars within the French Quarter. Easy pick up spot for Uber/Lyft.

We were in a room that was right next to the back entrance for PJs Coffee Shop. It was very noisy early in the morning, which made sleeping in impossible. Don’t understand why there is a room next to the entrance. Also, the ceiling was cracking and leaving ceiling flakes all over the room desk, which made it feel a little dirty.

Amazing location, lovely big bed and modern furnishings an decoration in the room. Nice attractive decor in the main building and outside space.

The air con. was a bit noisy

I rated the FRENCH MARKET INN excellent for OUR NEEDS. This hotel is not luxurious but it met all of our needs for our 4-day trip to New Orleans. It is located on the south end of the French Quarter a few blocks west of Jackson Square. The location is very convenient because any walk within the French Quarter is at maximum, 10 blocks. VERY convenient in and out public parking is right across the street - it's expensive at $46.00 a day plus the horrible tax rate ($6.10) but parking is a PREMIUM in the French Quarter. This is paid at the hotel. The hotel has a very interesting layout with a very charming courtyard with tropical plants in the middle. There's a small swimming pool, too. The people are great ... they truly want their guests comfortable and happy. We chose the windowless king room, the lowest price option at $137.42 (including tax ) for weekdays and $243.17 (including tax) for weekend days. Our room and our bathroom were small. Two of the walls were brick and stucco. Our bathroom with a shower was very modern. Our room had a small refrigerator, small desk with drawers, 2 end tables with drawers and lower storage, and a small chifforobe. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

Très bien placé. Pas de bruit. Propre.

This was our first stay at the French Market Inn. We visit NOLA a few times a year but hadn’t tried this place. We really liked the location, it’s very convenient to all the area had to offer. The room had the charm and old world vibe we expect when visiting the quarter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and courtyard area was nice. We enjoyed the balcony and had a great view of the bridge. Loved hearing the steamboats from the balcony.
