Residenza d'epoca Il Cassero

Siamo rimasti soddisfatti in tutto e per tutto. La piscina è immersa nelle colline toscane, solo a guardare il paesaggio ti fa sentire rigenerato. L'appartamento è molto grande e confortevole. Per ogni colazione il gestore ci ha dato un coupon per fare la colazione in uno dei tre bar a scelta del paese. Il pezzo forte è la torre, dalla quale si gode di un panorama pazzesco. Da ritornarci :)

You do have to walk up several flights of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, take this into consideration.

Trap naar het toilet, die kraakt en piept, in de nacht wordt iedereen er wakker van. Ook zijn de fauteuils totaal doorgezakt en in onze kamer was weinig kastruimte. Geen lekkere stoelen in de tuin om even in de zon te relaxen. Het zwembad was 1 km verderop en was al gesloten.

The location could not have been more perfect. Right outside the entrance are two lovely little coffee shops with the most delicious cappuccinos. Freshly baked croissants and small breakfast sandwiches are included in your reservation. They also serve lunch and dinner. This is super convenient. Our wish was to experience an old Italian villa close to Lucignano rather than stay in a typical hotel. The building is part of the original wall surrounding the town and it is right next to the old main gate. Walking through the gate and up the main road is fun, there are some shops and several cafes/bars. It is impossible to find a better location if you want to be in Lucigano.

There was really nothing that we did not like. The room was large and clean. The bathroom has the typical small European shower, but for a vacation stay it is certainly adequate. The hot water will run out fairly fast, so we would recommend giving it a little time to re-heat in between showers. A cute little kitchen with a fridge and a stove in case you want to fix some food. Your host Massimo is super responsive to anything you might need. This being a 400-year-old (so we were told) villa, the building is rather large and has some beautiful old staircases, so be prepared to walk upstairs. We had a great time here.
