Smiling Cactus Villa

The villa lived up to its online portrayal, staying true to the images presented. Its proximity to numerous dining options and Seminyak Square was a definite plus, showcasing a strategic and convenient location. Communication was seamless through WhatsApp, and the villa manager, Wayan, stood out for his exceptional friendliness and willingness to accommodate our needs. If we ever find ourselves back in Seminyak, Bali, there's no doubt that we would opt for this villa once again.

.The only minor drawback was the bathroom situation, where the lack of coverage resulted in significant wetness after showering, due to water splashing around. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the villa's merits.

Good location, lovely responsive staff, good layout for family.

The toilets did not flush which was inconvenient and gross. “Put your poopy toilet paper in the bin” was not something I expected to be yelling at my kids in holiday. Smelly, gross, annoying. We were told that it has something to do with the sea/coral…but I have stayed at other villas nearby and never had this issue. For the money I paid, I wanted a flushing toilet. I also think the photos are misleading. The ad showed highly edited photos of three villas, and I didn’t realise they were not all from the one property. So I rented based on photos and then realised we were at a different villa. The Villa we stayed in was ok (except for the toilets) but the Villa I wanted (and thought I was getting) was next door. We were one bedroom short because of this confusion and needed to rent another villa across the road to accommodate our eldest child. At least she got a flushing toilet! Yes, our mistake, but when you look at the 40 photos of Smiling Cactus be VERY careful to understand that what you see is not what you get. The staff are lovely, but overall I felt ripped off and I would not stay here again.

Location, privacy, open floor plan(inside out), bed was comfortable, service very quick and helpful. Butler included.

Comfortable, upscale and most importantly clean and free of insects and lizards despite the number of plants around. Timely breakfast and cleaning everyday. Walking distance to most popular spots in Seminyak.

The location of the villa was excellent! Probably 8-10 min walk to the beach and to Seminyak village. The villa itself is huge! I mean huge! It has 2 bedrooms, large living area, pool, sunbathing area, and a small terrace by the pool. There is an area to relax after pool, watch TV and etc without entering bedrooms. It was great that the insects repellent was provided. We have been greeted nicely and light/AC were on when we arrived. The bed frame is kinda high a small step stool might needed for an older people to get on the bed. The manager showed us villa on arrival. The villa has self-catered kitchen if you want to cook something. There are utensils/cups/plates/pots available. In the kitchen you can also find tea/coffee for your needs and big jag of water. There is no milk in the fridge. Maybe because we are from New Zealand we got used to have a milk in the fridge. Breakfast was included in our stay. There is a sheet where you can pick up options for breakfast. Last day we had a floating breakfast in the pool which was great! Breakfast consisted of fresh juice, fruit plate, and one main course. We tried pineapple pancake, mi, and nasi goreng . Pineapple pancakes and mi goring were very good. There is a restaurant next to the villa that was super convenient. It was just next to our villa. There were several options to choose from. No car needed to get there. It was less than 1 min walk! The communication with our villa manager was easy and that was very helpful.

There is nothing that we didn't like really. As a suggestion, maybe it will be good to have some rack in the bathroom to dry towels after shower? We were looking for such a place. Bathroom towels might need replacements. They looked worn out. Some people might find the location of villa little bit noisy as its located on a busy road and restaurant near by is playing music. But it was not our concern as we were exploring the country during the day and coming back very late.

Fantastic location, So close to all our favourite restaurants. Cafe Bali, Sisterfields. Short walk to Kim Soo and Kudeta. Lovely gardens and pool, as in photos. comfortable bed. This villa has been looked after well after the pandemic. Staff were very accommodating when we needed a late check out. we will be back.
