Busses are available along the High Street, and Exeter Central Rail Station is 10 minutes’ walk away. Parking is available on site and charged at £16 per 24-hour period.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. "Overall the hotel is average . Quite dated looking needs updating as well as the pool . Asked to move rooms as the noise"

"This time not great with no air conditioning and jacuzzi not working and expensive car parking."

Great location. Lovely hotel - stayed here many times.

Air conditioning wasn’t working. Would not have stayed here if I knew. Room was very hot. A fan was provided but noisy. Room wasn’t particularly clean. Jacuzzi wasn’t working. And car parking at £16 is a complete rip off.

"Another lovely stay at Mercure Southgate"

Room was very nice with great bathroom. Location is excellent for town centre and Cathedral. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Some more tea bags and milk in the room. Greater choice of ales in the bar would be nice as well.

Good location. Excellent cocktails and reasonably priced. Quality hotel with great service

Room was supposed go have a sofa bed. It had a fold out bed. Fine if there's more than two of you but we chose the room for a bit more space and to have a seating area.

The location is superb, the lounges, restaurants bars are clean, and staff were friendly. Nice breakfast

The Curtain was hanging off the rail, lights weren't all working in the room it was a big light on or nothing which was annoying. The jets weren't working in the hot tub so no hot tub in the fitness centre, but apart from this it was a good hotel, but I do think quite pricey as not up to the standard you would expect.

Air con broken - according to other reviews, for a few weeks now and we were not informed prior to our stay (which would have affected whether we chose to stay at this hotel). Some areas working, not others, which we found additionally disappointing.
