InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza by IHG

I wanted to share how great my experience was here. I had multiple people tell me that I needed to stay at the intercontinental just to meet Don. Truthfully Don is the only reason I stayed at the Intercontinental this week, and he 100% did not disappoint. What a great guy!! I truly enjoyed the conversations I had with Don, and the energy he brought to the room full of people was amazing. Such a great guy. The intercontinental is so lucky to have him working for them. Thank you Don, for the work that you do and the person that you are. Stay true to who you are, amazing human being!! In the world we live in today, it is refreshing to meet such a great guy who brings the energy he does every day. Anyone who reads this would be lucky to spend anytime you can with him. I am here for a leadership conference with 30+ people and everyone in the room has had the pleasure of meeting Don. Every single person mentioned how great of a guy he is and they were spot on. Unbelievable human being. Well done Don, keep up the great work. You are a bright star in this world!

The hotel was clean, had a decent restaurant that was open all day, and staff were friendly. We had Roxann as our waitress all 4 days. There was one day that they were short handed and she handled it with skill and a good sense of humor.

We stayed here for two nights in October as our base for the Chiefs game, and it turned out to be a great choice. The hotel has a lovely old-school charm — you can tell it’s been around a while, but that just adds to the character and atmosphere. Every member of staff we met was genuinely friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was a real highlight with plenty of choice and everything we tried was delicious. Our room was large, comfortable, and had great views overlooking the Plaza centre — a really nice touch. All in all, this is a warm, welcoming hotel with great service and a fantastic location. We’d happily stay again next time we’re in Kansas City.

Parking was difficult to get out, i paid for parking with the reservation but had a difficult time getting out, staff assisted.

It’s too big and kind of cold/impersonal.

My fiancé and I stayed here for the first time. We’re from Omaha and are moving to the KC area very soon. We went to the happy hour and dessert time with Don. He was incredible!! Words can’t describe how amazing he was. He made us feel very at home with helping to what options were available and picking good drinks to have. He also had amazing vibes and kept the party going with his wonderful music choices. Would recommend this experience to anyone!

My bathroom was filthy. The room that I booked was not the room I got. I told the staff about my issues and they did not even address them. They just checked me out and sent me on my way. Do not recommend staying here.

Staff was friendly and helpful, great location.
