Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center

It was centrally located and clean.

There was no shower gel in the bathroom.

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt from 2/19/26–2/22 /26 while attending the A10 Swimming Championships, and the location couldn’t have been better—directly across the street from the venue, which made everything so convenient. The lobby was updated, clean, bright, and very welcoming. While our room was neat and well-maintained, it did feel dark and like it could be updated compared to the more modern feel of the lobby. Breakfast was good, but the selection was the same each morning, so a bit more variety would have been appreciated. What truly made our stay stand out was the staff. Everyone—from housekeeping to the front desk—was professional, pleasant, and friendly. We especially want to recognize Dana at the front desk. He was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. When we asked for dinner recommendations, he not only shared his personal favorites but also pulled up the menus for each restaurant so we could compare options. His thoughtful approach made it so easy for us to decide. We ended up trying all three of his recommendations, and each one was excellent—especially impressive since we’re from the NYC/NJ area and have pretty high standards when it comes to food. Harpoon Larry’s is great for casual, family-friendly seafood (it can get lively), Al Fresco offers delicious Italian, and Fuller’s Raw Bar is a smaller, trendier spot with fantastic seafood. All were about a 15-minute Uber ride from the hotel and absolutely worth it. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend this Hyatt—especially if you get the chance to connect with Dana at the front desk!
