Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center

We stayed here for our wedding in Hampton. We were very disappointed that the room did not have a microwave. We had DoorDash deliver us food and had to go down to the lobby to get it. We weren’t happy with that. The room doors do not have anything to stop them from slamming, so we were awakened throughout the night because other guests were slamming the doors. Additionally, whomever thought it was a good idea to put a metal plate where the shower drips did not think that through. A constant “ting ting” was heard our whole stay.

I did enjoy the breakfast. I do think daily they should offer a non pork option. I enjoy pork but for medical reasons my husband can not.

My card charges were confused and the refund process is longer than it should be. I complained about the slow drainage in the sink from Sunday to my Thursday check out and it was not addressed. Check the sink in room 344.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center and unfortunately, my experience started off very poorly. Upon arrival, I was informed that my reservation had been cancelled because the hotel attempted to call me three times the morning of my check-in. I was traveling at the time and in-flight, making it impossible to answer. Cancelling a confirmed reservation under those circumstances was both unreasonable and extremely frustrating. What made matters worse was the initial lack of urgency and empathy from the front desk staff. I requested to speak with a manager and received minimal support, and at one point, I was told there were no rooms available to rebook me, nor availability at partner hotels. As a guest arriving with a confirmed reservation, this was both embarrassing and stressful. After nearly an hour of back-and-forth, including contacting customer service, my reservation was eventually reinstated, and I was given a room. While I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved, the process to get there was unnecessarily difficult and could have been handled much more professionally. This experience highlighted a need for improved communication, better reservation handling practices, and stronger customer service at the front desk level. I hope management takes this feedback seriously to prevent similar situations for future guests.

We had an adjoining room and the people next to use had dogs that barked often.

The hotel was clean and meticulous. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The free breakfast was very good; much better than the average free breakfast. The hotel is nicely designed and offers seating areas to socialize or work. There were really nicely appointed small sitting areas in the lobby. There was also a small bar in the lobby. There was a restaurant but I didn’t visit.

Giving this place a solid 4 stars. I doubt I would ever give this class of hotel more than that, so this is a strong review. Great location, very inviting and well lit. Staff were very visible, helpful and courteous. That is appreciated, since this class of hotel seems to be minimizing staff in many places I’ve seen. The breakfast was the best Hyatt breakfast I’ve had in awhile, and thank you for using real plates, fork and knives! The room was clean, and although it was already showing some wear, everything worked. Overall great stay and I would do again.

Would not recommend staying here, the location is decent but the service and rooms were not too great. Definitely did not live up to the ratings. The atmosphere around the hotel was ghetto.

The rooms were nice, clean, the view from the hotel left a lot to be desired but that is to be expected in that area. The breakfast was good nothing spectacular. The bonus was it at a restaurant and a bar. Not that I got to use either one but it was a selling point. The shower was really nice!

The hotel was noisy. I did feel it was a little over priced. I'm a travel agent so I stay at and hear about a lot of hotels and for the price you would expect something a little nicer. We stayed at another hotel the night before for 50.00 less and the bed was way more comfortable and the pillows were nicer.
