Shilo Inn Suites - Idaho Falls

Broken, dirty, and worn out. We won’t be coming back. The breakfast was the highlight, better than most, but they use a ridiculous voucher system.

It was run down and old, smelled bad and the a/c unit in our room was broken.

Everything was dirty. There was no soap in our room and the towels had stains on them. The walls had stains, and the staff at the front desk did not want to help with problems. Our key stopped working when we went to the pool and then the pool door is completely shut down and didn't work and they had to get maintenance to open the pool. The complimentary breakfast was not good at all. A big bowl of yogurt with no toppings, and all of the cupboards underneath the breakfast were broken or painted horribly. Definitely a scary place to get food. All in all, one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. The area outside was beautiful for walking in the back though.

There were some areas outside that could have been cleaner. Room rates were pretty high%

This place could use a deep cleaning and upgrade. Permanent ring around toilets. Bartender was unfriendly and did not wait on us even tho we were the only one in the bar that evening ( group of 8). Beautiful location though. Nice walking trail and scenery just out the back door.

Rooms are very spacious with plenty of furniture to place suitcases on instead of the bed! Our room was very clean and overall wonderful. Yes the hotel is an older hotel with normal wear and tear but that is to be expected. The desk clerks were so friendly and helpful. They appeared to enjoy their job which is rare these days!

The place was very old, but so clean and kept up.. Our room was large compared to Hiltons..etc. It's a walk out the back of the building to the falls and Historic downtown area. Very beautiful and safe location.

Loved it except that it must have used to allow smoking/smelled like stale cigarettes in our room and the pillows were tiny!! Check in and out and breakfast staff were friendly and kind. No real complaints!

Breakfast was good but not a lot was offered. The room was decent. You could tell that the furniture was old, but the bed and pillows were comfortable and it wasn’t very noisy considering that it was the night before BYU-Idaho move-in day for the Fall 2025 semester.

Booked 7 nights, but stayed only 1 as BED IN THE BED ON HUSBAND about midnight! The next morning I told the General Manager CURT (who didn't care) as he was tending the front desk that Alaska Vacations was charging for that night and 1 more and crediting the other 5 nights balance as only staying that 1 night. It was just to let the front desk know. He was blunt and rude and said, "DON'T TELL ME WHAT WE'RE GOING TO CHARGE." We went to a restaurant for breakfast and came back to load our belongings, but LICKED OUT OF OUR ROOM #241! Luckily, maid let us in. ALASKA VACATIONS was contacted who said this was totally UNACCEPTABLE and called their front desk...but, CURT THE GENERAL MANAGER would NOT answer the phone calls! And, he would NOT guve me a checkout paper acknowledging our charges. Again, ALASKA VACATIONS said unacceptable! We used our AK AIR VISA through AK Vacations for our room. BUT, SHILO CHARGED OUR Costco Visa $665.00 also !!! Another call to ALASKA Vacations who said they'd escalate and make sure that charge was reversed (which it was today 9.12). What a FIASCO! DO NOT STAY IN THIS FILTHY PLACE... SAD...NWVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I HAD SOMEONE BE SO RUDE, BLUNT, AND IGNORANT! I will let Shilo know as well. Totally disgusting!
