Everything apart from parking

There was no parking available when I arrived. I had checked the hotel's website before booking, and it indicated that parking was available. However, I later discovered there are only around 30 parking spaces for a hotel with over 300 rooms, and they were all full. After I had already paid, I received an email stating that there might be a problem with parking. This information should have been made clear on the website before booking, not after payment. As a result, I had to find off-site parking at my own expense and walk to and from the hotel every evening and morning, which was very inconvenient and not what I expected based on the information provided when I booked.

Whoever interviews and appoints staff does the most wonderful job: I have never met such a considerate and actually kind group of people - people on the reception desk (I'm sorry, I never wrote down your name!) who care enough when Birmingham is baking to put you in a lovely room on the coolest side of the building (overlooking the canal basin - a real bonus!) and turn down the thermostat in the room so you will be comfortable from your first moment. As always a special shout out to Hossain and his breakfast team, especially Jenisha - we will really miss you! We'd never stay anywhere else in Birmingham.

The hotel and room itself fantastic. Location brilliant

The spa really let it down. It was like stepping into a totally different hotel. Very dated, not as clean as the rest of the hotel and you have so much potential to do so much more there. Also we really wanted a drink by the pool which was not possible. I think to avoid disappointment you should be clearer about how small and basic the spa facility is as it really doesn't match the rest of the hotel

Very disappointing experience for a hotel of this standard. I travelled from Jersey for an important work conference and entrusted the hotel with approximately £2,000 worth of suits and shirts for pressing. I was promised on three separate occasions that my clothing would be returned, only to discover late in the evening before an 8am meeting that it had not arrived. Despite repeatedly chasing updates, nobody proactively contacted me, and no meaningful solution was offered. To make matters worse, my sleep was disturbed between 3am and 4am by excessive noise from an adjoining room, along with the smell of smoke and cannabis entering my room. Problems can happen in any hotel, but the lack of communication, ownership and customer care shown by the management team was extremely disappointing and fell well below what I would expect from the Hyatt Regency brand.

First rate city centre hotel in a great location almost next door to the International Conference Centre and Symphony Hall. An easy 15 minute walk from the train station for those deciding to leave the car at home. The rooms are spacious and the facilities at the hotel are excellent as are the staff who are professional and friendly.

Breakfast was plentiful & lovely, the staff very attentive. The breakfast area is also beautiful. The best place for me however was the Gentlemen & Scholar Pub, the staff there were absolutely superb everyone of them and the food was also delicious, a great late night place to eat ad chill.

The bathroom perfectly clean but needs a little bit of attention in the grouting area.

The breakfast is amazing.
