Breakfast poor buffer choices Did not validate the price of $19.99 Instead charge $25.00 per meal I

This hotel is close to Solvang, which is the main reason for our 1-night visit. The lobby area is nice, with a bar and Starbucks. Unfortunately, our room was not so nice. I asked for a high floor, and instead, was given a key to a ground floor handicapped unit which had not been renovated in a LONG time. It was actually very ugly. The bed was practically on the floor; the shower had a short dirty curtain built for a wheelchair. The main reason for 1 star, besides the hideous decor of the room, was because the barn door in the room collapsed and fell on my husband's recently broken shoulder. I could hardly pick it up to get it off of him, it must have weighed 100 lbs. We complained to the front desk; she wrote an accident report and told us that someone in their Corporate office would contact us. Well, it's been over a week, and nobody has bothered to contact us. The hotel did absolutely nothing, other than "I'm sorry it fell on your husband's broken shoulder, goodbye".

I called two weeks before our trip to request early check in which they said they could not guarantee so I said I would call the day of and ask if it was possible. They said they could not guarantee it AGAIN but I was still charged for it. We ended up getting there around 3 (check in was at 4 pm) since they said they couldn’t guarantee early check and had to wait in the lobby for an hour. Our AC was also broken and someone came to check and said “no it’s working” but it most definitely wasn’t. We and our two dogs were so warm but we couldn’t leave our sliding door open because we were on the first floor and that’s unsafe. We asked to change rooms but they said they were fully booked for Memorial Day weekend.

Highly recommended stay in Buellton. Very nice property. Well maintained. Staff is very professional. We stayed here many times and always had a great experience. The lobby pizza oven is excellent.

Convenient location near Santa Barbara and wine country. The front desk provided a credit fir their error in giving us a handicap suite.

They gave us a handicap king suite when we didn’t desire this and it was contrary to our reservation. Bird poop all over deck made it unusable. Tub stopper did not work. Hotel food not great.

The bathroom and shower were in bad shape. There was a hole in the shower ceiling with a pipe hanging out, and a hole in the tile floor. The wall had some damage as well. Not sure why we were given this room for two nights but I will not be staying there again if all of the rooms are in the same neglect.

Room just seemed to have the bare necessities

The staff informed me that breakfast was not included with my reservation, even though I had booked my stay with breakfast included. It took some time for me to prove that I was correct. Additionally, even the cheapest motels offer free internet, so charging $10 for that service seems quite overpriced. The breakfast had very limited choices. Once again, Marriott is losing its reputation. The value does not justify a rate of more than $300 per night.
