The Dower House Hotel

First visit to the hotel due to a vist in a nearby village.. had b/b & when we arrived enjoyed a fabulous lunch served by fabulous team of people.. will certainly visit again & if we do move to Lincolnshire it maybe our please to go

Location is fantastic. Quiet, but close to all amenities. Welcome was lovely by professional, friendly staff. Room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast included very good quality products. Log fire was a bonus on a January evening. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be regular visitors in the future.

The staff were all great, without exception. We're thinking of moving to The Lincolnshire Wolds area and the hotel staff reinforced our view that the area is super friendly and welcoming (particularly Joe). Absolutely loved the Wolds - a real hidden gem. Lincolnshire is not all flat and boring, in fact the Wolds compare favourably with anywhere in the UK. Woodhall Spa is a really lovely little town, quite upmarket and inviting. It reminded me of some other 'pretty' UK towns, but much more wooded. Our hotel room was large and comfortable, the evening meals were pretty good too. The hotel is located right in the middle of a lovely wooded area next to the golf course. We couldn't have wished for a better hotel or location.

The selection on the morning buffet (pre-full english) was uninspiring. There was and absence of inviting fruits, or green figs and prunes in syrup. The dried fruit, specifically the dried apricots, were so dried out, that the were virtually impossible to bite through. We had the full English breakfast, which was piping hot and generally very good with the exception of the mushrooms (a single large one) which was awful - black, mushy and watery. I think button mushrooms would have been a more appropriate offering as they tend to generally retain their shape and texture better.

Breakfast was lovely. The location of the hotel is gorgeous, with plenty of walking opportunities and plenty of amenities nearby. It’s a really friendly town to spend time in.

We did find a lot of spiders around the lodge area and in our room. Just the perils of being at the countryside I imagine.
