Bergen This hotel is a quandary for me. It has a good location near the harbour and a spacious reception area - much better than the Scandic hotel we stayed at in Oslo. However, that is where the positives end. The reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. On the day we arrived we reported a problem with our room safe. A previous guess had left it open but locked, so it couldn’t be used. The hotel made no effort at all to resolve the situation - we reported it again when we checked out but the receptionist just wasn’t interested. We also asked for extra pillows on the afternoon we arrived, as we only had one each. These weren’t delivered to our room whilst we were out for almost five hours and later in the evening we had to return to reception to track some down. The breakfast room felt like chaos. They had far too many guests for the space available - and it wasn’t helped that they reserved an area for a tour party who perhaps were having a lie in two days in a row. This hotel was a comfortable place to sleep (once we had two pillows each) but that is the best I can say about it. We won’t be returning next time we visit Bergen. There must be better, more friendly options in the city. Sad
