Super 8 by Wyndham Tucson Downtown Convention Center

The beds were crisp and clean and so comfy with big comfy and comfortable pillows. The refrigerator was perfect and kept our stuff really cold. Though the room did smell faintly of cigarette smoke. When I reported, they said they could not change rooms as the hotel was booked up for the night.

It was dark. No elevator for handicapped access. The smoke detector started chirping at 9:25pm and the front desk lady came in and replaced the battery but… left it hanging by the wires. Then when I reported the TV didn’t work, she messed with some wires and said it needed to reload. It never did so the tv never worked. Also, no phone or iron. At about 1am, someone kept knocking on our door, we were too tired to even respond. Woke up this morning and found a ring of master keys to all the rooms, hanging on our door handle on the outside. I tried a key and it worked on our room. Thank God I carry (as a law enforcement officer). When reported, they apologized and said they needed to check their safe with all their keys…Very unsafe. It smelled like smoke and when I reported it, they said they couldnt move us because the hotel was booked full. And the pool and jacuzzi are like the size of a bathtub (hyperbole but not as big as photos represent. As a follow-up, They CHARGED ME $50 deposit and said they smelled smoke in the room or something and thats why I lost my deposit. They refused to give me a reciept upon check-out for this!

It was a typical Super 8 but definitely needs updating. The staff were polite.

Our room door didn’t close fully. We were able to lock the door but it wasn’t aligned with the wall. The floor was dirty, dusty, and had a couple insects. The bathtub had hair on it. We checked in late so I went to Walgreens & got Lysol to clean the tub. Picture on the wall as the headboard was dusty.

The rooms are alway nice and clean and the staff are all very kind. While I was there I saw the buliding was getting a new paint job, maybe some newer beds might help cause the center of the bed sinks in and kindof interupted my sleep, but after I put some pillows in the center I was ok, but that wont stop us from returning. Thank you, see you next time.

very dirty rooms and restrooms. Front entry door was banged up pretty bad and would let in daylight in a complete closed position. microwave open/close button was broken and would fall off at each use. Cracks around bath tub that were not caulked. Overall just a dirty motel. Will never stay here again even if I was give a room for free!
