Hotel Cardoso

the hotel needs a bit of TLC to bring it up to standard but this is made up for by the friendliness of the staff and the fantastic location.

My stay was veeerrryyyy nice. Thanks to the whole team - reception/laundry/room service/restaurant (fresh food). Perfect - will recommend.

Very good stay. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The environment and view of the hotel are very nice. I would advise that the hotel should also reburbish and put modern facilities in the right wing of the hotel- the city view. Its a very hotel with professional staff. I do recommend it to any visitor to Maputo.

Visiting friends in Maputo

The stay at the Hotel was a pleasant experience but the traffic is very bad especially getting in and out of Maputo via Matola not to mention the traffic cops

Cardoso Hotel is a lovely older hotel on a hill overlooking the town and the bay. The hotel is very nice, staff is friendly and food is OK. I was expecting a bit more quality and skill especially on the seafood side, the salt usage was over the top. Also, each room is equipped with South African power outlets, so bring your adaptors, getting one from Hotel or even the mall proved very difficult.

Terrible Food spoilt a really great hotel

The Cardoso is an awesome hotel. It is a little old but this is more than made up for by its location and fantastic staff.

I have been staying at the Cardoso for many years and love the environment, most of the staff, the patio and the view. I think it has got way too expensive, however. The price per room for just me was double the price for two of us at a good hotel in Chelsea, London (though to be fair this was a special winter last minute offer).
