Teerman Lofts

You pull in to a shared parking lot. It took a little bit of driving around, but you figured it out. You punch a code into an electronically locked door, and try to open the door. clack. No good. The light turned green. That's weird. Hm. You punch it in again. CLACK. Still nothing. 3 more tries. Nothing. a 6th try does the trick. You try not to pay attention to the dread following you, breathing right down your neck. Grab your key from a semi-public safe just inside. 30 steps up, and 10 to the right, and the first of many floorboards creaks ominously beneath you. You don't know it yet, but this is a harbinger of what's to come. Area around the property: The area around this student housing turned apartments is fantastic, and fills you with hope. Unfortunately, this is part of the illusion. Cleanliness: The inside of the building seemed to be clean, though most of the silverware had waterspots. Nothing bad there Staff & service: There's no front reception. There's just a number you can tell, but its the couple who owns it; noone on premesis Property condition & facilities: This was the deal breaker. Every single floorboard creaks, and makes you feel like you could fall through at any moment. Paint is clinging by a thread to the ceiling, and there are gashes in the walls. The bedroom isn't closed off - very bad for insomnia/trouble sleepers. Just feels dangerous. Stayed in a different hotel. Vacation ruined. Don't know how it got a 4 star rating without staff.

The loft is conveniently located in downtown Holland. It is beautiful, quiet, super close to campus, and perfect for our visit to Hope College Family Weekend. Check in and out was easy, and parking was easy. This was our 2nd stay. We’ll be back.

Our stay was perfect. Condo was very nice clean and in a great area for shopping and restaurants.

No elevator but the apartment was clean and comfortable as well as convenient downtown area. Owners were very friendly, helpful and quick to reply.

The Huron suite was very nice, clean, modern, everything you need for a nice stay. I loved being right downtown Holland as I reminisced about when I had lived there many years ago, and noticing the changes that had taken place. However, I was unaware that the hotel did not have an elevator. I may have missed that somewhere in the description but I was definitely surprised when I opened the door to enter the hotel. My knees aren’t what they used to be, let alone having to carry my luggage up two flights of stairs was very uncomfortable. The city also apparently was having a sewage issue where the unpleasant odor was wafting through the hallway. Fortunately, it did not enter into the suite in which I stayed. It would have been nice to have received a notification of that issue so I would have the option to make reservations elsewhere. I did however, stay for three nights hoping that it was only a one day occurrence, after which the owner was very considerate and professional, and had agreed to discount the suite for the first three nights, and also was willing to cancel my next three nights for a refund as well, so I could look for accommodations elsewhere. Also, being an old building, the floors creaked which I haven’t experienced since childhood when I grew up in an older two-story home. All in all being in a great location and very clean and modern accommodations if it had an elevator and assuming the unpleasant order was gone, I would definitely stay there again. Thank you again to the owner for accommodating me while I relocated.

A great location in the middle of Holland for walking this adorable town. Teerman Lofts is our sister-trip go-to place to stay. Everything you’d ever need is included - even Mikasa glassware! A spacious living area, comfortable bed, and a great bathroom for family with a separate room for the shower. We’ve been staying at this location for years and will continue in the years to come!

Excellent location with parking, great hosts, perfect well appointed kitchen with dining seating for guests! Comfy king sized bed and great living room space when desired. Will be back when in the area again!! Highly recommend! We loved the Huron Loft. Good to know stairs needed for access and front access is only one flight :0) thanks much!

Great location and wonderful kitchen and dining set up. Was great to be able to cook meals and in a convenient downtown location. Will definitely stay again when in town.

This is the fourth time we’ve stayed at Teerman Lofts and we have already reserved our next trip. Beautiful, well-furnished rooms in an historic building with free parking and easy access to restaurants and shops just steps from your door. We appreciate the fully-equipped and roomy kitchen, big bedroom and lots of space for a long stay. And the management is so responsive and kind. It’s a real gem (I’m almost reluctant to share it!) in a perfect location in the heart of downtown Holland.

This our 4th straight year visiting Holland and staying at Teerman Lofts. The location is second to none and the lofts are fabulous. We have stayed in the Macatawa loft on all of our visits and it is spacious and overlooks 8th street. The shopping and restaurants are steps away.
