"Great Lodging Option in the Heart of The Shopping/Dining District"

10.0

We were in Holland for a week vacation and based on Trip Advisor reviews, we booked a room at Teerman Lofts. (We booked the Huron room). We had bicycles with us and the owner Jeff was very helpful in making arrangements for us to secure our bicycles in the adjacent building. Jeff even helped with retrieving our bicycles when we checked out. He was always responsive with communication and we really felt that personal and kind attention from him. Parking and check-in is a breeze. Both entrances to the loft building are secured, and of course each room is secured with a key card. The Huron loft was actually more attractive than what we expected from the photos. It is a beautifully repurposed building with many amenities and conveniences. The loft is spacious and the full, well stocked kitchen with modern appliances is a nice option to have, even though there are abundant restaurant options within walking distance. The Huron loft was extremely quiet during our stay. The only two notes to be aware is there are stairs and no elevators (as described on the website), and the windows in the Huron are high, so the only view is the sky (which some may prefer). There is a complimentary shared laundry with two nice washers and two dryers that was on the 2nd floor, and we were able to easily do laundry during our stay. The location is in the heart of the shopping and dining district, and an easy walk to the boardwalk along Lake Macatawa. The Farmers Market at the end of Eighth Street on Saturdays is not to be missed. Without a doubt the largest and best Farmers Market we have experienced. Within close proximity to the hotel, we enjoyed breakfast at The Windmill (a throwback diner) and Bowerman’s. Hops and The Curragh were our favorites for lunch and dinner. There are many other dining options in the area, and Boatwerks with a beautiful view of Lake Macatawa was within a reasonable walk. (On the North side of Lake Macatawa - a short drive from Teerman Lofts, DeBoers is not to be missed for breakfast and bake goods, and the Beechwood Grill and The Reservoir were also very good for lunch or dinner.) We enjoyed our stay at the unique Teerman Lofts and will definitely return on our next visit to Holland.

"Small Apartment Feel"

6.0

Nice location in town, very clean and comfortable. Furnished well, nice shower. Tile in bathroom, kitchen set up gives a very “updated” appearance. Note: there is no elevator so you have to carry everything up a long staircase. Also, there are no instructions for TVs and it would be nice to have information on nearby restaurants, shops etc.

Fabulous location easy parking. The bed was comfy but there was noise from adjoining units or maybe just noisy guests and no fault of the property. Would definitely stay again

Property requires climbing two flights of stairs and is not handicap accessible. Was not a problem for us but this needs to be made clear in websites. Rooms are spacious and building is in the center of the downtown shopping district.

"Perfect home base for a swim meet at the HAC"

10.0

We've been travelling to Holland for our son's swim meets for over a decade, and we've stayed in just about every hotel in town. The Teerman Lofts are hands-down our favorite place to stay. I wish we'd discovered it sooner! We love the extra space that comes with renting an apartment, and the beds and furniture are very comfortable. I've had some great naps on the couch in our Teerman Lofts apartment. And the location, amidst all the downtown shops and restaurants, is perfect!

I was visiting family in the area, and Holland was (a) in between my brother to the north and my sister to the south and (b) reachable by train from Chicago. (I didn't want to have to rent a car.) I was booked in the Tulyp Hotel but received notice about construction going on next door. With an Expedia discount, staying at Teerman Lofts was a bit cheaper and a lot nicer. It was an easy 15-minute roll of the suitcase from the train station, and the December weather was unusually mild the evening I arrived. My room was the Ontario, which is spacious, quiet, comfortable, and bright. It looks south out over the Hope College campus and the iconic Pillar Church. It was great to have a full kitchen at my disposal, although I ended up using it mainly to make coffee, keep beer and cheese cold, and prepare really simple things. Downtown Holland is cute and full of places to eat, drink, and shop for doo-dads. It has no grocery stores or even convenience stores, however. None. There is a sad Family Dollar and a BP station about a 20-minute walk south, but neither has anything that isn't microwaveable or processed to within an inch of its life. If you are carless like I was, you need to take an Uber or the local transport (MAX) to a Meijer or the like to get real supplies. A somewhat saving grace for me was that just a couple minutes from the lofts is Readers World, where you can buy a range of local and national newspapers.
