DoubleTree by Hilton St Paul Downtown

Location, I was within walking distance to nearly everything I wanted to visit and attend.

There were some amenities missing like coffee in the lobby pen and paper in the room and no effort made to decorate for the holiday season.

Restaurant was closed that night we were there and the next morning did not have a complimentary breakfast.It was twenty dollars to have breakfast , so I passed on that

The location to the Grand Casino Arena...walking distance of 15 minutes. The front desk staff was welcoming and very friendly! Loved that there is a restaurant/bar attached!! A+!

We didn't eat breakfast or in the restaurant in the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful when I checked in and out.

The beds in the room were very had, there are not fans to provide some sort of background noise to be able to sleep. There was a dirty rag in the shower. The outlet by the coffee pot didn't work. I had to use the outlet in the bathroom. There was not enough creamer in the room. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone going by, in other rooms and whatever all night. The parking garage had some issues with the gate to get out in the morning.

Mostly convenient to the river centre. A few block walk which was not bad. One of the skyways were closed/broken so we could not go as far as we wanted inside but that is no fault of the hotel. The staff were helpful and courteous.

The breakfast was not good for 20.00 a person. We did not pay that much since we paid through booking.com, still not sure it was worth it. The price at the hotel was a lot for continental breakfast and saw a couple people walk out. Oatmeal cups, yogurts, waffle maker, scrabble eggs and bacon (one day over cooked), unripe fruit mix, and some breads and pastries were offered both days. I have had better breakfast for free at a lower room rate many times. The beds were not comfortable and seemed to be on older frames causing more movement when my spouse moved then we have in most hotel stays. It was odd to be able to look under the bed since most hotels now more of a box bed frame that things do not go missing under the bed. Oh and I heard there was a pool, but no hot tub. Seemed odd, but that is what my kid said.
