C14 - Casa da Luz

Für eine Übernachtung war es ein guter Aufenthalt, wir brauchten nur einen Platz zum Schlafen und Duschen. Gute Lage, gut mit dem Auto erreichbar, Parkplatz leicht zu finden. Die Küche ist einigermaßen gut ausgestattet.

I liked the town of Luz, where the property is located, and the fact that the apartment had three separate rooms. Another plus was that the apartment was freshly cleaned – although unfortunately this meant we could only collect the keys after 4pm and in a different town, and the strong smell of cleaning chemicals inside was overwhelming.

I definitely do not recommend this property. The check-in process was completely absurd – even though the apartment was located just around the corner from my previous stay in Luz, I was forced to travel all the way to Lagos just to collect the keys. This cost me €30 for a round-trip Uber, and once I got there I had to wait another 30 minutes in line. To make matters worse, I was only informed about this ridiculous procedure one day before arrival. Had I known earlier, I would never have booked this place. I reported the situation, but received no compensation. The owners clearly deal with so many clients that they simply don’t care about individual guests. The apartment itself was one of the ugliest places I’ve stayed in Portugal. The furniture looked like a random collection of pieces gathered from neighbors, the kitchen was poorly equipped (not even basic things like salt or sugar), and the “terrace” was dirty, furnished with cheap plastic chairs that made it impossible to enjoy. Perhaps the standard in Luz is generally this low, but for the price I paid I would definitely look for something else.

Srsly that shower is a joke it’s a minimum to at least repair it. Dryer in the back is a disaster. No umbrella to seat outside the house on the porch. Nothing to make coffee, no AC, old ugly couch and uncomfortable couch that we had to cover with a blanket- it was so shabby. Great location but the rest didnt match the price.

‘Casa da Luz’ is well-priced and in a great location (8 mins walk from the beach).

When we discovered that the TV receiver and washing machine weren’t working, we reported it immediately to DreamAlgarve (the agency managing the apartment). We were promised a maintenance visit, but no one ever showed up – even after three follow-up messages. Overall, the apartment offers decent value, but the lack of maintenance and poor customer service was extremely frustrating. It feels like DreamAlgarve puts more effort into sending automated replies and writing fake reviews than actually supporting their guests.
