DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront

Front desk staff was wonderful both on check-in and checkout. I apologize that I do not remember their names. The fellow who checked us in was Italian I believe. The fellow who checked us out was a retired teacher. Both gentlemen were efficient, friendly and helpful. The room itself was lovely and seemed very clean.

The shower design was ridiculous. Despite our best efforts to contain the water it went everywhere because the shower head pointed toward the open area, there was no lip on the shower entry to contain the water, the shower curtain was both too short and made of the wrong material to help deflect some of the water back into the shower area. The area outside the shower got slippery despite using any extra towels to create a dam. Definitely a safety issue. Time to get a new mattress for the sofa bed-very uncomfortable. We had the misfortune of needing a hotel in Tampa during the beginning of March Madness so the room was sooooo expensive.

Very clean property. The restaurant and bar were very nice.

It is a beautiful property. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfy.

The AC units in ALL of the rooms are extremely old and out of date. None of them blow cold air out. 2 maintenance men came to “fix it” and just reset it but nothing changed. Was set at 64 degrees for 3 days and never got below 70.

Location was too far out from central Tampa and couldn’t find anything within walking distance to go and do so if weather isn’t great then it’s an uber ride to do anything
