Burbi Lake Lodge Monteverde

The property is located in a lovely lakeside area, with a well-maintained garden that is tended to daily.

The property is a 25-minute drive on a gravel road from Monteverde, requiring a 4x4 car. Driving after 18:00 is in total darkness. There is no food available on the property, so returning to the lodge for a midday rest is not practical.

Very charming lodge tucked away from the hustle. The staff was very friendly and the property is very well maintained and clean. They offer free boating on the lake, you can feed the ducks…made our family stay so enjoyable and memorable! At the end of our trip we realized we spent more time in the lodge doing things, than visiting places around.

Wish there was an option for lunch/dinner on the property. As it’s quite a drive from the main town of Santa Elena, some meal options might help the guests.

There is no refrigerator and air conditioner/fan in the room.

Lodge is built in a beautiful quiet place around the lake. Rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. We had a room with small terrace and fantastic lake view. Breakfast was excellent and main part was prepared by very kind staff based on our choice from offered options. Santa Elena and Monteverde cloud forests are within 25 minutes drive (roads are mainly unpaved in Monteverde area and even if they are in reasonable condition I recommend car with high ground clearance and preferably 4x4; use road 606 from Santa Elena to access the lodge, it’s gravel road in good condition).

The property is a delight! Walking around the lake, the birds and the views were so beautiful. We had great hospitality and were treated like we were the only ones there! The breakfast was delicious! It is nice to travel to rooms without television to have the chance to be, read, write, talk and sit. SO enjoyable!!

The lodge is beautiful and well-equipped. The lake trail was very relaxing and we enjoyed getting away from it all at this location. The internet was a little throttle/ slow but worked well enough. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was friendly as could possibly be. Breakfast was also very good.

Bumpy roads getting there

Beautiful location, surrounded by nature, far from noise. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice dining area with water/tea/coffee and snacks available. Tasty food.

The balcony in the room could be bigger to put some chairs there for relax, also the terrace in common area could have some hammocks, table, etc.
