Stairs to the property were steep and as the train was not operational and arriving by ferry, the stairs in the town to get to this property are brutal.
AUExcellent location in the centre of Varenna, close to restaurants, waterfront and ferry. Very comfortable, good size, well equipped. Lovely view across Lake Como.
As others have noted, the steep steps up from the street were challenging, but we coped.
GBLocation!!! Right in the heart of Varenna. Very spacious and clean. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were great. Beds and bedrooms were excellent - very comfortable and big. Wardrobes and drawers were also generously proportioned. Was pleasantly surprised to find that the sofa is a double sofabed. Lots of natural light upstairs with a really nice view of the lake from the living room / balcony. Was also very quiet and peaceful even though virtually in the center of town. Good WiFi, TV , fridge, washing machine, pod coffee machine etc. everything was catered for.
The steps to the apartment are steep and narrow - even for Varenna. This was more noticeable when carrying luggage. The apartment sleeps 6, but there's really only enough seating (dining, balcony, sofa) for 4 at a time. Even though it's a spacious apartment, with a family of 5 we missed that extra seat when chilling out or eating.
IEGreat stay! Enjoyed our stay at Casa Manoli for a group of 5 heading to a wedding. Beds were comfortable, including pull-out bed (although very bright in the morning's & church bells might wake you up). As in other reviews, the stairs are very load so be aware of waking your roommates up at night, but wasn't an issue for us. Location was perfect, right beside the square with a small local shop and lovely bakeries & hotels. Very short walk from the waterfront & other amenities. Great view from the apartment. Staff were very friendly at reception & check out was no problem. TV you can use to cast from your phone or laptop. Kitchen stocked with the basics.
Not to do with the property, but be aware of city tax to be paid on arrival. Stairs are loud so be aware if travelling with children & trying not to wake them up.

we had 3 heavy suitcases and 3 carry ons. we had to carry them up 33 steep steps.
