Hotel Bethel - Fort MacLeod, AB

Garbage piled behind our room, room was extremely small, tv mounted above headboard of bed and only enough room for a single chair to watch from. Bathroom had cracked tiles on floor .

Nice stay friendly staff

This was an awesome little motel since we were on our way north and only needed a night’s stay. Super friendly staff and the room was nice!

Beds on rollers made it difficult to get up.

The hotel was close to the fort. Had to go to McDonald's as they had no coffee. .beds were comfortable and clean . There was a benches outside to enjoy the morning sun. Very reasonable cost for night stay.

There were no handicap facilities, but one of our rooms we booked needed a flat surface to enter the room, but there was quite a step up. All 3 rooms should have been flat surfaces to enter the room, but it was only one night do we didn't ask for a different room.. They managed. Also, one bathroom around the toilet could have been cleaner. I booked 3 rooms and the other two were very clean. The room we had had no kitchen utensils and 2 cups for 3 people. One chair to sit on. There is no place to set out suitcases but on the floor. Had one kurig pod but a drip coffee pot.

It seems this hotel is now part of the OYO Group. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an almost reluctant front staff trying to book a third person for the room (extra bed in the pull out couch), which bumped the price to 160$ for each night (we stayed for two).Previously, the area had a bad rep due to the downtown location, but it seems the town has cleaned up and we felt safe. It is conveniently located near restaurants, a grocery store and the Fort Museum in walking distance. There are two other motels on across the street, although they don't seem to list with online booking sites so we weren't aware of them. Now, for the hotel, that's another story. Most everything was broken, from the door jam to the bathroom, haphazardly fixed door jam at the main door, top of main window could not be closed, toilet paper holder almost fell off the wall, also the shower mixer valve almost came out of the wall, windows were terribly dirty. No hand soap in the bathroom. The kitchenette had barely any dishes, no kitchen towels and the coffee maker had no coffee available. However, overall it was clean inside. I hope they read reviews. The easiest way to fix their shortcoming would be to ask themselves: Would they like to stay in a hotel for $160 a night where you have a laundry list to take to the office for all the things they should pay more attention to.Little thinks can make a big difference, especially if you have trained staff. The stay was functional, but I would not recommend it.
