Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix - Mesa West by IHG

The rooms were nice & spacious, very quiet breakfast was good.

the pool and spa being outside would have been great if it was indoor.

Only stayed one night. The room was very clean and comfortable No complaints

Breakfast was awesome, but the bed was pretty hard. Hotel was overbooked so we were switched from two queens to a king with a pull out sofa.

The toilet overflowed all over the floor. All of the toilets in the 3 rooms our group had clogged. The front desk told us their maintenance guy was out and so they wouldn’t help us. There were bugs everywhere and the bathtub wouldn’t drain. Pool was absolutely freezing.

It's clear that this hotel has a history of smoking, as there was a strong smell of both cigarettes and marijuana throughout our stay. The first night was especially difficult, as the extreme cleaning fumes caused my husband to have trouble breathing throughout the night. Upon check-in, we found the room lacked enough towels for our group, and although we were told there were sheets for the trundle bed, this wasn’t the case. When we requested them, we were asked to go down to the front desk ourselves, only to be handed two duvet covers instead of proper sheets. To make matters worse, the trundle bed was dirty when we pulled it out, with visible debris, indicating it hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned. These issues, along with the lingering odors, greatly detracted from our experience and suggest a need for better attention to cleanliness, preparation, and overall guest comfort.
