Golden House Hotel & Restaurant

Had to wait till 5 pm to check in ( check in was at 3). Service is non existent

They Hotel was not bad but there was a weird smell and it was probably due to the humidity. The original room that I was in was too stuffy and was not as clean as it should have been, there was dust in the dresser and there were no wash cloths in the bathrooms. The hotel had a pool and free breakfast which I did not take advantage of but it was nice that it was included. Overall not too bad with a little more maintenance and upkeep the hotel would be much better. The hotel is nearby all major stores i.e. La Sirena, Jumbo, Plaza Lama, Bravo and there are a number of places to eat nearby. Good location! Four miles away is the Malecon of Santo Domingo.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was really nice and so are the the guests. Breakfast is included with your stay. Not just a cereal and pastries. I had an egg, mashed plantains, and sausage. Another guest helped me order. I do not speak Spanish. I am an American. They are very welcoming.

I like the staff, was very nice... the only thing was at the breakfast, no to many options... but all the amenities was fine.
