HAKU Boutique Hotel Quy Nhơn - Lê Lợi

This property was not the property we booked. I booked two rooms the newer HAKU in the same city. Our driver delivered us to this hotel. When in our “king standard” room I started comparing pix to the double bed closet room I was shown. The front desk when asked told us we had been moved to this hotel because the other was damaged by the tropical storm. When asked why they hadn’t notified me, I was told they couldn’t get in touch. Funnily they had responded to every other communication I sent and I even received communication. Regarding my airport transfer the morning of the trip. We were told we could Move to another hotel at no charge but that was an onerous option since we were already moved into our room.and we would waste an afternoon. Alternatively we were offered a room “upgrade” to larger room. These rooms were still not the king standard we reserved. No price adjustment was ever offered. They had queen needs instead of King and were slightly larger with sliding door access to tiny balcony. There was no pool. There was no buffet. Breakfast was a simple menu of soup/pho or fried eggs or fried noodles. There was no juice or fruit or salad. The coffee was ice cold. When we alerted staff it was reheated not remade. I checked the first bed for cleanliness and it was ok. It wasn’t until I got into bed that night in the “upgrade” room that I discovered one pillow on my bed with no pillow Cover…no problem until you looked at filthy stains all over the pillow. All and all I would never have chosen to stay and this facility and give an opportunity would not stay again even if it were comped completely free.

Almost everything except the staff who were responsive as they could be to our question albeit there was very little English spoken at this facility. Our rooms were small and cramped, it was over a day before we learned that the reason there was no hot water was because it was solar powered and now that it is cooler it take “10 MINUTES RUNNING THE THE WATER” to get hot. This might be something they want to consider telling guests at checkin or place signage for in the rooms. Using this process 1 had one minimally warm shower. The rest were ice cold. The smelled musty, maybe not unusual for a shore hotel in a humid region but still off putting
