Clarion Hotel Mackinaw City Beachfront

room dirty and dark. missing half the light fixtures in the bath room. the pool was in a separate building in the middle of the parking lot. The breakfast was in still another building . was hoping for better accommodations but it seems since 2020 that most hospitality business have just really fallen of in terms of customer satisfaction and service is a word that does not have the same meaning

Unfortunately, we did not like any part of it. The staff needs to attend a customer friendly class. And whoever, made the rule that no one can come and look at your room due to accesive smells and filth is a bit misguided. The fourth room shown was due able but that was it. We wanted them to come witness what we were Speaking of as they would not refund us saying we cannot do any refunds. Only managers. I WILL never go to a Clarion again.

Breakfast was ok- coffee was horrible.

The pool and hot tub were absolutely nasty. It looked like the scum from the pond in the hot tub and the pool was so cloudy you couldn’t see the stairs. There were full trash cans everywhere, dead and alive bugs on the stairs , cigarette butts all over the place. We had half a roll of toilet paper when we went into the room and when I called the front desk to get more I was told I had to come get it. The room had an old musty odor and sheets were stained and dirty. Carpet was dirty and old and needs replaced. The bathtub needs new caulking and the whole room needs updating.

Your rooms smell strong of carpet fresh to hide OLD. They are in dire need of upgrades. Paint would go a long way. Staff was great. Your hotel not so much. Mold in the shower. Caulking would fix that.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Clarion Hotel Beachfront! Check in was quick and easy and the staff was excellent! We were able to upgrade our room to one that over looks the water which was fantastic! We only had a 5 minute walk from the hotel to get to the Arnold Ferry Line. The beach was beautiful and clean! The hotel has beach chairs out that you can use. We had breakfast at the hotel one morning and it was good. We took a look at the pool area but did not use it. However the family that was in the pool when we were looking at it, seemed to be having a great time! The hotel is only about a 5 minute drive to downtown Mackinaw City which has shopping, restaurants and activities for kids. We loved going there every night. The hotel was conveniently located near the freeway, but far enough away that you didn't hear any traffic. The room we had was a 2 bedroom suite. There was a nice sitting area in one bedroom and the other bedroom was located when you walked into the hotel room. Both beds were comfortable. It had a large bathroom with lots of counter space. It also had a mini fridge and a microwave. We were on the 2nd floor and although there is not an elevator in that building, it was an easy 5 steps up to get to our floor. Parking was great, we were able to park in front of our building each night. The balcony has a couple of chairs and a mini table on it and it was so relaxing looking at the water and listening to the waves. We will be coming back to stay at this hotel next year!

The hotel met my families needs and our stay was comfortable. What would make it an outstanding hotel is just some upgrades to the room like maybe some fresh paint and carpeting and new mini fridges & microwaves. Everything else was great!!

It is one dirty hotel, did not even want to eat breakfast because it was discusted!
