DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Augusta

The staff was AMAZING! I was greeted with sincerity and hospitality every single time they saw me. Checking in and out was so easy and all done from my phone! The room was VERY clean and smelled nice.

There were no events for NYE/NY at the hotel. There's no food you can buy in the hotel because the dining had been closed all day and night. This was a real problem because there are no microwaves nor refrigerators. So, you have to go back out to eat or order delivery. But again, don't purchase more than you can eat or it will be eaten at room temperature or trash it because you cannot refrigerate or heat it. The room was clean and I appreciate it greatly because since Covid finding rooms that are being cleaned properly has been interesting from the lower end to the higher end. The linen was clean and possibly brand new! Several pillows and a cozy top cover on the bed. The television was a very nice size, great channels, and ofcourse seeing a greeting on the television is nice. My main issue is that the bathroom in a room the ceilings literally look like spackling was put up there and just left. The beautiful light fixture was not installed properly or really just wasn't a good fit but it's over the shower _tub and like it might fall at any minute. You can see large hole coverups all in the bathroom and it is so small that you literally cannot take two steps between the tub, toilet, and vanity. The tub needs to replaced. Very deep set in stains and rings. We did not feel comfortable nor safe showering and since it was only a one night stay ( and we're local -SC) We didn't make a fussThe sheer curtains were dingy and tattered. At $150 plus taxes and fees for one night, we should be able to use the room in totality and even cheaper ( lower budget hotels) you have a small fridge or microwave. I know that the point is to get patrons to use the dining options within the hotel but there were none. It is my understanding that it's under new ownership hopefully they will get the hotel back up to par. I'm an Augusta native and Doubletree use to be so nice!

I could barely turn the faucet on and off in the bathroom. Also the phone charger on the nightstand drained my battery and made me 2 hrs late

I loved the pool and the room

I was disappointed that there wasn’t clear communication regarding the complimentary breakfast, as I ended up having to pay. Additionally, the restaurant was not clearly marked, and there was no proper table and chair seating available, which made it difficult for a family traveling with children.

Nothing!!

Did not eat breakfast. Hotel felt deserted. It’s outdated. Needs tons of “fixes” Just disappointing altogether. Seemed as though it’s a has been facility, I remember it was a top notch hotel with restaurant and bar always packed with people not even staying there! Our night stay there was 1 person at the bar!! Won’t stay again!
