Oneida Community Mansion House

Such a great getaway place to spend time at. The museum inside the mansion is such an extra bonus and we were able to view it by ourselves. Magnificent library! I wish I had more time to spend there and just sit and read! Beautiful natural lighting! The room we had was very clean and roomy and the king size bed was so very comfortable. It took me a few times to notice the old woodwork and special doors and magnificent tall windows and ceilings since there was so much to look at. The bathroom was very roomy with a great size tub with shower and the Beekman soap along with shampoo, conditioner and body wash was a very pleasant surprise. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Very surprised to hear of residents also living in the building and seeing the old wooden mailbox slots that they still use. The areas where they live is clearly marked by signs so they are not disturbed. Many bathrooms through out the mansion with lounges you can also use. There is also a small bookstore as you enter which also carries a variety of other gifts or just something you may need such as Tylenol or even a candy bar. There is alot more to explore inside and outside the mansion. Parking was in the back of the building but well lit at night and many places to park. My husband and I spent a lovely night there and we're very pleased we chose this Oneida Community Mansion House for our weekend getaway! We would definitely revisit and make another booking!

Gorgeous historic property with large, lovely rooms and huge bathrooms. Big picture windows look out on the courtyard and bathrooms have excellent updated plumbing fixtures. It all felt quite luxurious. The museum is a fascinating. We had no idea this area was a center for utopian ideals before it became famous for silverware manufacturing. Very enjoyable!

Historic, quirky history, lovely old buildings and gracious grounds

I chose to stay there because the place is the reason for my trip.

The breakfast starts at 8:00 am. It is too late for many tourists.

Very quiet and confortable.

It was advertised as a light breakfast so in that respect it was excellent. I loved the history of this place that around every corner there is something to learn. I wanted to stay and read or appreciate the art. It was hard to leave. There is no central air but there are air conditioning units in the windows. I didn't use mine, just opened the window and enjoyed fresh air. I made a late reservation and had a bike. The receptionist stayed past her quitting time to help me because after 8:00 PM, you have to use a key drop system. Finding my room and a place to store my bike (huge basement) may have taken me hours without help. I would stay there again for sure!
