Everything was great

The most positive thing was that after numerous issues we were upgraded to the hotel next door. As this is probably unlikely for most potential travellers I personally wouldn't risk it.

Checking in wasn't overly straight forward. The suite we booked was ok, but upon entry the shower was broken and the bathroom was dirty - stains and numerous hairs on the wall (the risk of having yellow painted walls is that they show such issues with ease). After flagging the issues I was offered a standard room - which was significantly smaller than what I booked, but gave a benchmark for cleanliness (which the original room did not meet). I also disliked the staff indicating I was wrong about the shower was broken- hinting that I'd never used a shower. Honestly a pretty terrible interaction, only resolved by getting moved to the hotel next door (though upon my first complaint a staff member initially offered rooms there if I paid extra for them).
