Windy Ridge Kandy

Clean, super comfortable bed, relaxing location away from the busy city, friendly, helpful, early communication made me feel welcome before I’d arrive, which was important to me on my first solo travel adventure.

Incredible. So good it’s hard to know where to start. The hotel itself is wonderfully designed. Built into the hillside, you enter at the top of the property and descend to the rooms. Grand Designs kinda vibes but super affordable. Senaka, his wonderful wife Nilakshi and staff Mala and Ukkuma made us feel so welcome. It’s incredible value. The big different being that this isn’t their sole source of income. It’s a passion project to meet people. This makes a HUGE difference to the experiences as a guest. The breakfasts are amazing. The rooms clean and comfy. They’re all from Kandy for generations, so know it all. They have some amazing stories and are genuinely good hearted people. I’ve sent two groups of friends to stay there since we did. I don’t know what better recommendation there is than that… You will remember this stay.

Very friendly, helpful and supportive staff.

This is an excellent home stay, overlooking Kandy from the hillside about 1km outside the centre of town. Kandy centre is walkable in 10-15 mins, or a cheap TukTuk. We were met by the owner and staff who gave us the warmest welcome. He was genuinely friendly and kind person, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was big, absolutely spotless, well appointed and had such a comfortable bed!. We stayed only two nights, it was very quiet and secluded, The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and excellent. Windy Ridge has a really relaxing atmosphere to explore Kandy. The owner and the staff are always smiling. Highly recommended Thankyou very much!

One of the best places in Kandy as of my experience for a quick tour around and a getaway. Friendly owner and nice surroundings, walking distance to Bahirawa kanda temple. Really worth for the price you pay.

We had a great couple of nights at the Windy Ridge. It suited us to be up and out of the hustle and bustle of Kandy but still close by. All staff were very attentive and made our stay super comfortable. Thank you

Windy Ridge Kandy is a beautiful property, very well maintained, with comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was tasty with fresh made juice and Sri Lankan breakfast foods. The hosts were very willing to help with requests and make recommendations.

The place is good value for money. Stay was quite comfortable. The owner was fantastic. He himself was present to administer the affairs. Breakfast was wonderful with cost-effective options. Highly Reccomended for the families to stay.

Everything was perfect except some extra rules to follow. Overall, it was a great experience.
