I am very upset for a horrible experience to stay in CNR Otelcilik Istanbul booked by Hotel.com. When me and my wife reached there after a long journey building front door was open, elevator was closed. We started to used stairs. Interestingly no body was in the building. I shouted to find some one. After 40 mints I found a young boy who was also guest there. On our request he called some one and after 10 mints a man came and shifted us in a an apartment. Apartment was good and clean. Hardly we stayed there 30 mints then again the same fellow told us we have to shift in a neighbouring apartment building due to reason unknown to me. There is no other way but to follow him. Interestingly he totally unable to understand us coz he was no understanding of english at all. We used sign language and actions to understand him. He shifted us in a neighbouring building with our luggage. Here in this apartment we found i. No glass for water Ii. Cups for tea iii. No refrigerator iv. No microwave v. No towel vi. No garbage basket vii. Just a electric kettle was there. viii. Bathroom was in its worst condition. Tape was broken Surprisingly even there is no looking glass in wash room. ix. Trafic noises was horrible inside the flat. We spent few hrs and decided to leave the apartment. We were collapsed from this situation and left this ugly building after few hrs. I am amazed without proper info

I booked this "hotel" on my connection as it was near the new airport. Arriving there I discovered it was not a hotel, the person didn't speak English, didn't accept card not did have change , had to go to the bank and charged a lot on the exchange rate. He left without explaining how to turn on things, had no towel, no hot water and elevator was broken and front door was broken and left opened to the street. No security at all, no service at all. I had to carry my luggage on the stairs and no shower. "Red carpet" on the entrance to disguise big hole . How can it be offered at hotels.com?

The apartment is located 4 miles from the new Istanbul Airport making it a perfect location for an overnight stopover if you are on a tight budget. It's on a main street with plenty of shops and restaurants around. The main street made it also a bit noisy at night which we didn't mind. The host speaks next to no English so you'll have to rely heavily on non-verbal communication :) Make sure you let the host know when you will arrive as there is no reception as such. The host will meet you and handover the keys. The apartment was modern, spacious and well equipped although some of the fixtures and fittings (bathroom shower, boiler in one of the bedrooms) would not pass European standards and the cleanliness wasn't tip top but price it's still an absolute steal if you need. If you are an adventurous traveller it's a great budget alternative to pricey hotels :)
