Extended Stay America Select Suites - Jacksonville - Lenoir Avenue East

I’ve stayed at the 6961 Lenoir Avenue East, Jacksonville Florida 32216 location close to two months. They have policies in place regarding paying for your reservation, it can be monthly or weekly rates. The front desk staff is not completely knowledgeable about their policies and it’s explained very poorly. Mi Lisa Macer is the general manager of the property. I am waiting on a call back from the district manager, Wanda Harris. The front desk clerks are not very knowledgeable of the policy and had been collecting payment from me according to what pops up on their tablet. The rate was one amount with them for the day, yet different from the GM. When I tried to explain and ask why, Macer refused to look at my receipt and refused to listen to me stating that there was no way it was that low. After paying the next few days with the clerks, (there were days when I could afford either the week or just the day) Macer called me down to the desk and asked me to pay the remainder of the week. That wiped me out but I paid. Before that week’s reservation ran out, the night prior I went to the front desk to pay for the following day. I knew the daily rate was higher but the front desk clerk couldn’t tell me how much higher. She said she would accept whatever payment I was able to give. The next day, Mercer knocked on my door at noon. Telling me I needed to vacate within the hour, because I violated making a “partial payment”. I paid $60 for the day. That day’s rate was $65.09. I called guest relations. They do not speak English. They told me there was nothing they could do. I pressed until I could get an American who called the front desk and talked them into giving me another 5 hours to vacate. I’m in a neighboring hotel. I was told to give them 48 hours to come up with a solution. It’s been two days and there hasn’t been one yet.

The room was absolutely disgusting!! Thank goodness I always carry disinfectant wipes and extra linen. It was bad we left all our food in plastic bags, we never stepped foot in the shower is washed by the sink standing on their towels. The floors and walls felt disgusting upon touching. There was trash in the hallways, I assume from other guests. The elevator floor was so sticky. If you dont mid living in the slums of slums this is the perfect place for you! Oh and they charge to switch out the towels for clean towels, $1.99 per towel… absolutely absurd!!

Nowhere on the app does it say once booking through a third party app there is a $100 deposit fee. Mind you my room was paid for in full and then Expedia had to bargain with the hotel on a refund on a fully refundable room for me

The room keys didn’t work and they gave me another room and the keys didn’t work either. The smell of the hotel is terrible .
