Swell Motel

Room was updated, just across from haterras lighthouse.

Air conditioning was either freezing, or went completely off. Problems with flys! Neighboring tenant was rude, property not in very good shape.

Enjoyed the bike rental! Office staff gave great recommendations for local food spots

Has everything you need ice for your coolers, nice propane grills, fish cleaning station and much more

Nothing it was great

The friendliness and down to earth staff. Not a "stiff" place. You can relax and just roll with the flow. If you needed something, all you had to do was mention it and it was next to ready for you. Available are kayaks, bicycles and paddleboat for your use. More than accommodating. Gift store full of local artistry..wonderful.

Waterbugs outside..lol..they're a given in the area. Key word..outside.

Me and my better half loved staying here. We came down to explore fish and recharge the old batteries. This place is also perfect for families or couples who want to enjoy a peaceful stay in the OBX…Nothing fancy but all the basics were covered and well thought of. I Loved how everything from kayaks to a fish cleaning station (with outdoor bbq and pans etc were available too us.) We had ice for the cooler and air for the tires. We were across the street from everything we needed, restaurants, ice cream and gift shops.

The location is great and there are several bbq areas and a pool. It is a nice place to stay for a few nights.

Location is very good.

The mattress was too soft.
