Grand Hôtel du Midi

Ideal location to most places. Great tram connection to all city venues.

This hotel was a 5 minute walk from the station and well located on the Place de la Comedie. It was very convenient for all the sights you would want to visit in the old town and there was a tram stop outside for those wishing to explore further. The room was nice and quirky with a great view over the main square. The bar was really the breakfast area and it was unclear when the bar was open. It is closed on a Sunday, which seems a little strange. Would still recommend this hotel due to its location.

Fantastic Location, Clean and spacious room, (ignoring the circular tub in the corner). Big shout to Frederic, I left a coat and he went a&b to secure the delivery by post to Aust. Overall a wonderful hotel and would recommend it to all travellers.

Very good location but needs some renovations, carpets, etc. Room was big and had 2 balconies. A good and nice restaurant was under our room and the view from one of the balcony was of this restaurant’s garden. Breakfast was good.

We stayed at Grand Hôtel du Midi in Montpellier and had a truly terrible experience. We booked two rooms for one night for my elderly parents and ourselves. My parents were first given a room infested with flying gnats (room 114) and had to be moved. Their second room had a broken air conditioner. They spent the night sweating in 28°C (82°F) heat (room 115). Our room had a massive spider and a web over 3 feet wide (room 117). The spider was alive and had clearly been there for days. The AC in our room was also broken. When we reported this, staff only cleaned the web and said no other rooms were available. We were forced to sleep in unbearable heat. Despite the clear discomfort and health concerns, the hotel refused to offer any refund or compensation. This hotel does not meet basic hygiene or maintenance standards and treated us with a lack of concern. I do not recommend staying here under any circumstances.

Comfortable quiet room and helpful staff

The hotel is a very lovely hotel situated in a good location to see the town and metro. My room was a premium room and I had 2 balconies with doors that opened for air. I found the bed comfortable and the bathroom well done. I had a huge tub - nice feature. The breakfast had a fairly good selection.

My wife and I had a nice stay at MIDI. AWESOME LOCATION! Really comfortable bed and the room was spacious. Friendly staff too! The only challenge we had was the bathroom. Zero counter space. The shower was also a “no door” shower and water gets everywhere. The step down out of the shower is pretty high and if we were seniors, it might have been an issue.
