DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego-Mission Valley

When you pay $200/night you expect the hotel to be relatively up to date and have normal complementary breakfast services included. This was not the case here. I attended a convention held at this hotel and the rooms were in my opinion the standard affair for the US (low quality). The balcony was not serviceable and I noticed most of the doors and walls had damage to them. I expected a bit nicer accommodations for a Hilton. What really blew my mind was that the conference's included breakfast had to be the biggest joke of any complementary breakfast I've seen anywhere including the lower budget places like hotel 8, etc. A few minor fruit selections, yogurt, and poor quality coffee. Not even cheap cereal or eggo style waffles, toast, etc. let alone any real hot food items like eggs, etc. This is what was available to every guest unless they wanted to fork over more money. I'm not sure what the conference paid per night but I had to reserve an extra night or two there at ($200/night which I reserved directly with Hilton) and I received absolutely nothing in terms of complementary breakfast, etc. except one of their cookies that they provide you with at the front desk. I thought my Hilton Rewards level was at the tier where the water in the room was included but soon found out that a standard water bottle cost me $4! Food for the conference lunches was ok, I've had worse at some other venues and then in Europe far better than anything in the US. The room was clean but when you walk out of the hotel be prepared to come across homeless people (this is California of course).

Great experience. Jesus was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took the time to understand my needs and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. The hotel is nice, with a great pool. Thank you, Jesus, for helping us around the hotel. Highly recommend!!!

Hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. There was a gentleman by the name of Jesus that helped me navigate through the hotel and answer questions I had. He was extremely helpful.

The staff was rude the person that assisted us during checking in which in her uniform said she was the supervisor did not greet us with good customer. Customer service was poor and I had to come back later to ask other staff questions since she did not give us any info just made us sign and pay but was not explaining nothing. It was a really long drive and the only thing that I wanted to come by was being treated respectfully and greeted with good customer service as that was one of the reasons I chose Hilton. I had very high expectations of Doubletree by Hilton but after the lack of customer service it did disappoint me. The good thing is the rooms were clean.

This has to be one of the worst hotels ive stayed at especially for a Hilton i mean the balcony door was all messed up the walls had nail pops and cracks everywhere and the parking is ridiculous. They pretty much charge you for just breathing. Staff isn't helpful at all and I have had better experiences at motel 6s I have stays at about 15 Hiltons this past year and this one is absolutely the worst I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
