Hampton Inn Charlotte/Matthews

Mostly fine customer service. Loved bedding. Sheets crisp and comfortable. Bathroom dates. A bit dusty on dresser/tv.

Decent. Staff attentive and pleasant. Bathroom fixtures in need of repair. Towel rack and toilet loose. Breakfast mediocre.

Close to a lot of things.

Shower control needed attention, shower didn't drain well, bed was worn out. 1 working ice machine for a 4 story hotel. Plenty of weed being smoked in a non-smoking hotel. Breakfast was poor for a Hampton Inn..cold powdered eggs, greasy sausage patties and cold potatoes. Outside grounds were unkept and full of trash.

The staff was amazing the the breakfast was very good. The area where they served breakfast was very clean and the coffee was good and hot. The front desk staff for the evening shift when we checked in at 4 was so very Nice and accommodating.

The room was very dirty and there was some weird carving on the bathroom shelf. The bathroom ceiling had a big unfinished drywall patch and there was no Soap at all. That is more of a convince than a big deal, just missed having it. None of the outlets worked around the bed either. The staff was very friendly and they were also very apologetic when I told them about the issues we had. The more important issue was the fact that the morning staff did not show up and the front desk night shift employee just left and went home. The breakfast lady was the only one there and she checked us out by taking the keys and using a sticky to write the room number down. It was just disheartening that a hotel chain like Hilton didn’t care more about a very busy Charlotte area hotel or the reputation of the Hilton name.

Had mildew type smell in the room, rust along bathtub, and shower stall.

Good things: Was also close to the highway, shopping, and restaurants. The mattress was firm so was comfortable to me. Bad things. The bathroom seemed recently renovated. Vanity only had one sink and the shower appeared to have pencil marks from the contractors. The toilet was clogged when we arrived. When I went to the front desk I was handed a plunger to take care of it. I don’t mind clearing toilets, but I’d rather have the plunger in the room rather than having to do the walk of shame when it wasn’t even my fault…savage. The heat blew and didn’t seem to have an auto shutoff so I woke up in a puddle of sweat. Overall, wasn’t impressed. I wouldn’t choose to stay there again.

The room was nice. Liked the free breakfast. The hotel itself had an older interior but no complaints.

Front Desk awesome and accountable. Breakfast was enjoyable. Very clean food areas.

Seeing bugs near elevator on my floor and near my room Maybe use pest control a little more often could quickly turn that around. I would comeback in hopes of that change. Very nice area to a place I will begin traveling too more often in the coming year.
