Other than the cabin was infested with rodents, I had to keep the lights on all night and Harley slept, the cabin was switched because I was told that there was maintenance issues, not very satisfied

"Distressed lodging and false ad. - stay away! "

4.0

We have visited the Grand Mesa area before and love it. This time we booked two nights for a birthday celebration. On hotels.com website, multiple phots showed a deck overlooking the lake which was why booked the cabin and to enjoy the views from the deck. Upon checking in, we noticed the cabin no longer has a deck, instead the sliding glass door was boarded up that it was not openable, outside was a steep slope that still had the concrete footing for the previous deck. We Immediately contacted the lodge to see if they would switch us to another cabin with a deck, we were told all were booked till the next day. Never heard anything from the lodge the next day. Not sure if they were honest about all the rooms were booked as there were only 1-2 cars there the whole time. The lodge emphasized that we should the breakfast with a fee (vs. the free one), so we did in the first morning. The extra fee breakfast served was two eggs and one sausage which took 45 min to come out. There was no communication as to why it took so long. In addition, we were scolded by the hostess/cook about eating our own food at the breakfast area. Except 1-2 boxes of cereals, that's nothing else to eat at the complementary breakfast. It's shocking and disappointment that Hotels.com won't do anything for the wrong advertise information and the lodging owner was pretty rude. Best to stay away from this lodging and hotels.com for future booking.

The couple who run the hotel are very nice. No wifi in the cabins, only in the main lodge. The hotel lodge was not very warm or inviting. Nowhere to sit other than the bar tables or dining room. The free continental breakfast was very disappointing… just cold cereal or instant oatmeal. There was only one choice for a regular breakfast. Not all the items on the dinner menu were available, however the Polish items that were available were delicious. Not many outlets in the cabin. The provided toiletries appeared to be forgotten items from previous guests. A coffee pot was provided but no actual coffee. The cabin was very clean and the balcony and view were very nice.

"Our Go-to place on Grand Mesa "

10.0

We've stayed here many times, summer and winter, and always enjoy it. Location is perfect for lots of activities right out the front door. The family who owns the lodge is very friendly. Dinner was good. Because of poor eyesight, I always bring an extra lamp, which was my reason for a 4 on comfort but this is a common problem in a lot of lodging for me, anyway. There were plenty of blankets, sheets and pillows to be comfortable at night, even with the window open to hear the stream.

Anna and Joe and the rest of the staff were friendly, had loads of information, focused on the guests, and were highly organized. My grandson is 11, and it was such joy for him to have two days of fishing. The trout were biting, and the weekend was glorious.
