"Called in on an off chance"

10.0

We were camping down the road and half way through a circular walk when we decided to call in for food and drink. We were worried food service had stopped as menus say 12-5pm but so glad we asked if food was still on . The food and service were brilliant. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

We were welcomed and the room was clean and the beds really comfortable, nice walk from the door but also lots of gorgeous quaint villages within short drives. The food was good and no issue with parking at all.

"A very enjoyable lunch"

10.0

We decided to have a run out in Derbyshire for lunch, we first visited The Cupola at Stoney Middleton, but left as menu very disappointing. We were going to the cheese shop in the Hartington, and decided to call in The Jug and Glass as we passed it. Very acceptable lunch menu and the food was excellent served by a very efficient chatty lady. Would recommend a visit to people. Oh and the Wainwright real ale was very good as well.

The mattress was lumpy and hard. Terrible sleep both nights. pillows hard and flat The breakfast was the worst we have ever had. It was a full English OR a bowl of cereal! The guests are expected to have exactly the combination on the menu!! Requested poached eggs on toast…refused. Even though it would have saved them money. Husband was still dressing and when I asked if he could choose his juice when he arrived I was told no…now or not at all!! Sausage was very cheap quality. Everything else luke warm. Did not bother on second morning. They do not replace tea and milk in room. If we could have gone elsewhere for 2nd night we would have. Everywhere else was booked up!

Fantastic place, really nice food, very friendly & welcoming people - staff & regulars. We’ve driven past here so many times but never called in. Will definitely be back when in the area again. Thanks for accommodating us for a table when the kitchen was due to close. Would recommend for a drinks & food 👍🏻
