Mid-City Motel

Room was clean, but the outside needed a lot of work, and people were smoking, a lot of people if my wife was with me, we would not have stayed but was by myself and I'm a big guy, had no cups, all the room had was a small bar of soap and small shampoo, and the clock did not work the first night, but the gal got me a different one. very small air unit so it was not that cool.

We saw a lot of places when we were there . We had a great time.

There were not too many things we did not like . But you do need to get the person who works at the Motel some help . She was very good and helped us if we needed anything. It does need some up dates to the place .

Friendly staff. Clean toilet. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Great location for the Soo Locks

I was traveling through Sault St. Marie for one night with my 15yo son. We knew we shouldn't expect much because I purposely chose a very inexpensive motel to try to save money. But oh boy. What a disaster. Entering the parking lot, we were greeted by all sorts of shady characters, most of which were sitting outside the motel rooms chain smoking in front of coffee cans filled with cigarette butts. We checked in at the office (the hotel manager was very pleasant) and proceeded to our room. The stairwell smelled remarkably like a Chicago underpass. Ending the room, we were overwhelmed by the stench of cigarette smoke that had clearly been poorly masked by what I can only describe as truck stop air freshener. They had attempted to air our the room by opening the windows, but we discovered we couldn't leave them open due to the giant hole in the screen. We found only 2 lights that actually worked, stained carpet, ripped wallpaper, a missing dresser drawer, and curtains that were falling off the rod. The bathroom was clean but incredibly small. The shower was small and dark, but the water pressure and temperature were surprisingly great. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable. The sheets seemed clean, but the mattresses were so permeated with cigarette smoke that our pajamas wreaked the next morning. At about 1am, there was a very loud domestic disturbance outside. All in all I wasn't expecting much for 90 dollars, but I feel like I overpayed...by a lot.

Super creepy, super getto, so dirty carpet so gross. The upstairs walk way was creepy , the floors were soft I was scared to fall through .

It was broken down and smelled horrible.

I wanted a cheap place to sleep, and that's what I got. The check-in was a friendly experience, the a/c was on, and the room was nice and cool upon entering. So I got what I essentially needed. But the place is in rough condition. The billboard out front indicated weekly rate options, and you can tell that this is a long stay motel for some. The decor is largely untouched and in its original state, with wood paneling in the bedroom and 50s era pink tiling in the bathroom. There was a drawer missing from a chest of drawers. Some outlets and light fixtures did not work. There was a hole in the sheet, exposing the mattress. There were stickers on the mirror, some of which were partially removed in a half-hearted attempt, while some were left untouched. There was an in-wall kleenex tissue holder that had an empty box. The room was clean, but dark with the wood paneling and limited lighting, and I chose not to assess the cleanliness too closely. We stayed a second night in the area and opted for a different place to stay. But I got some sleep in an air-conditioned room, which was most important.

The location was excellent and the front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Carpet was filthy, and the fridge wouldn't work also tv.. a lamp over one of the beds wasn't working either. The lady at front desk gave me 20.00 off.
