Mid-City Motel

The room was comfortable and clean. Because of our anniversary she upgraded us. We had 2 queen beds on ground floor. Parking was right out our front door. Yes this is an older motel, but it was clean people very friendly. Booked here because it was right near old downtown where we wanted to be. Valley Camp, Tower of History and Soo Lock Tours were within a couple of blocks.

Nothing that I can think of.

TV didn't work. The carpet seems aged. This hotel offered the weekly rate and I saw the weekly locals hanging outside their rooms.

We had a large room. Air conditioner worked great. The water pressure in the shower was awesome. The room was clean, other than the smell.

The room had a very strong odor of Mexican food. There were not enough lights in the room to see into your suitcase. It needs overhead lights. The place looks run down and not clean. There seems to be long-term residents/families living there. Chairs were everywhere with smoking people and ashtrays around. We felt like we were being checked out by these residents and judged. It was uncomfortable, and it raised anxiety concerns about our safety. The pictures are not current and do not depict its current state of being run down.

The owner was AMAZING! Very helpful and kind. The rooms were clean. The bathroom was very nice. She said we got the best room!

The garbage smell outside was unpleasant. The bed was wiggly, I could feel my husband moving. The stairs and balcony could use some TLC.

Not much to like about this hotel

Nothing. I left within 30 minutes of being there. Disgusting.

Windows don't lock. Carpet had pee stains and other black stains. Curtains were falling off rails, tv remotes weren't even to the TV, smelled so bad I couldn't stand it. Wi dow to the sidewalk didn't lock making it extremely unsafe.

Carpet was very stained, curtains hung up with safety pins, bed was like sleeping on springs

I liked the location a lot, the price was fair and it seemed like a lot of people that were staying there were living at the hotel which made it feel more homely and safe.

The rooms could use some updating and deep cleaning, but everything was fine.

The place in general seemed unclean and not kept up.
